Risk And Compliance Jobs in Florida: Frequently Asked Questions
How do you become a risk and compliance professional in Florida?
Most risk and compliance roles in Florida require a bachelor's degree in finance, business, accounting, or law as a starting point. Florida does not issue a state-specific license for the broader compliance function, but employers in financial services strongly prefer candidates who hold certifications like the Certified Regulatory Compliance Manager (CRCM) through the American Bankers Association or the Certified Compliance and Ethics Professional (CCEP). Healthcare-specific compliance roles may require familiarity with Florida Agency for Health Care Administration rules.
How much do risk and compliances make in Florida?
Risk and compliances in Florida earn a median of about $74,920 a year, based on May 2025 Bureau of Labor Statistics wage data, ranging from around $44,130 for the lowest 10% to over $127,420 for the top 10%. Pay rises with experience, specialty, and employer.
Which companies hire risk and compliances in Florida?
Employers hiring risk and compliances in Florida right now include BNY, JPMorganChase, and First Horizon Bank, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of September 2026. Florida's deep concentration of regional banks, insurance carriers, and large hospital systems means demand stays consistent well beyond the most prominent names.
Which Florida cities have the most risk and compliance jobs?
Tampa, Orlando, and Lake Mary have the highest concentration of risk and compliance openings in Florida. Miami leads because of its dense cluster of international banks, fintech firms, and insurance companies, while Tampa and Jacksonville generate strong demand through their large healthcare systems, financial services headquarters, and regional corporate offices that require dedicated compliance functions.
Are there remote risk and compliance jobs in Florida?
Yes, and more than most fields, since risk and compliance work is fundamentally analytical and document-driven rather than hands-on or site-dependent. About 57% of risk and compliance openings tied to Florida are remote or hybrid as of September 2026, reflecting how well the role translates to distributed work. Regulatory review, policy writing, and risk monitoring are the functions most commonly offered on a fully remote basis.
How can I get hired as a risk and compliance professional in Florida with little or no experience?
The most realistic entry path is a compliance analyst or risk analyst role at a Florida bank, credit union, or insurance company, where many organizations recruit from audit, legal assistant, or operations backgrounds. Large Florida employers such as regional banks and AdventHealth-affiliated health systems run rotational or associate compliance programs aimed at recent graduates. Earning an entry-level certification like the CCEP Foundation designation and building familiarity with AML monitoring software strengthens a candidacy considerably before landing the first role.
Where can I find and apply to risk and compliance jobs in Florida?
