Sales Account Manager Jobs in Alaska: Frequently Asked Questions
How do you become a sales account manager in Alaska?
Most Alaska employers look for a bachelor's degree in business, marketing, communications, or a related field, though relevant industry experience can substitute in sectors like energy and logistics. Sales account managers in Alaska do not require a state-issued license, but roles in industries such as insurance or financial products may require Alaska Division of Insurance or FINRA credentials. Building familiarity with Alaska's dominant industries, particularly energy, telecommunications, and healthcare supply, strengthens your candidacy significantly.
How much do sales account managers make in Alaska?
Sales account managers in Alaska earn a median of about $98,860 a year, based on May 2025 Bureau of Labor Statistics wage data, ranging from around $70,370 for the lowest 10% to over $171,700 for the top 10%. Pay rises with experience, specialty, and employer.
Which companies hire sales account managers in Alaska?
Companies currently hiring sales account managers in Alaska include State Farm, IMA Financial, and GCI, per current listings on Migrate Mate as of July 2026. Alaska's energy and telecommunications sectors consistently drive the highest volume of open sales account manager roles in the state.
Which Alaska cities have the most sales account manager jobs?
Anchorage, Alaska, and Juneau have the most sales account manager openings in Alaska. Anchorage drives the largest share because it is home to the state's major corporate offices, energy company regional headquarters, and healthcare distribution hubs, while Fairbanks and Juneau draw openings tied to state government contracts, utilities, and regional commercial accounts.
Are there remote sales account manager jobs in Alaska?
Yes, and more than many field-based roles, since sales account management often involves phone, video, and email outreach that can be done from anywhere. About 0% of sales account manager openings tied to Alaska are remote or hybrid as of July 2026, reflecting employer flexibility around the state's geography. Account management work focused on inside sales, SaaS, or managed services tends to be the most remote-friendly.
How can I get hired as a sales account manager in Alaska with little or no experience?
The most realistic entry path is starting in a sales development representative or customer success associate role with a larger Alaska employer, then moving into account management after demonstrating quota performance. GCI Communication, Alaska Airlines, and regional healthcare distributors based in Anchorage regularly hire entry-level sales reps who can grow into account manager positions. Completing an Alaska-relevant credential such as an insurance producer license through the Alaska Division of Insurance, or earning a Salesforce certification, gives candidates a measurable edge when competing without a long sales record.
