Sales Account Manager Jobs in Pennsylvania: Frequently Asked Questions
How do you become a sales account manager in Pennsylvania?
Most Pennsylvania employers hire sales account managers with a bachelor's degree in business, marketing, communications, or a related field, though a strong sales record can substitute for a specific major. Pennsylvania does not require a state-issued license for general sales account management. Specialized industries add credentialing: life sciences roles may expect pharmaceutical sales experience or a science background, while financial services firms may require FINRA licensing. Starting as an inside sales representative or sales development representative at a Pennsylvania company is the most common entry path.
How much do sales account managers make in Pennsylvania?
Sales account managers in Pennsylvania earn a median of about $130,610 a year, based on May 2025 Bureau of Labor Statistics wage data, ranging from around $71,500 for the lowest 10% to over $239,470 for the top 10%. Pay rises with experience, specialty, and employer.
Which companies hire sales account managers in Pennsylvania?
Employers hiring sales account managers in Pennsylvania right now include Verizon, T-Mobile, and SunSource, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of September 2026. Pennsylvania's concentration of pharmaceutical, financial services, and industrial manufacturing companies means openings appear across a wide range of account sizes, from regional mid-market books to large national enterprise portfolios.
Which Pennsylvania cities have the most sales account manager jobs?
Philadelphia, Pittsburgh, and Allentown have the most sales account manager openings in Pennsylvania. Philadelphia leads because of its dense concentration of life sciences, financial services, and enterprise technology companies, while Pittsburgh's growing technology and healthcare sectors drive steady demand there, and the Lehigh Valley sees consistent openings tied to its industrial manufacturing and logistics employers.
Are there remote sales account manager jobs in Pennsylvania?
Yes, and more than many fields, since much of the role involves phone calls, video meetings, and CRM work that translates well to remote settings. About 72% of sales account manager openings tied to Pennsylvania are remote or hybrid as of September 2026, though many positions still require in-territory travel. The prospecting and reporting portions of the role are most commonly performed remotely, while client presentations and relationship-building visits are more often on-site.
How can I get hired as a sales account manager in Pennsylvania with little or no experience?
The most realistic entry path is starting as a sales development representative or inside sales associate at a Pennsylvania-based company, where you build pipeline skills and product knowledge before moving into a full account management role. Large Pennsylvania employers in pharma and technology run rotational sales programs and associate account manager tracks designed for recent graduates. Earning a recognized sales certification or building a demonstrated record of quota attainment in a related role such as retail banking, recruiting, or customer success gives candidates a concrete edge when applying.
Where can I find and apply to sales account manager jobs in Pennsylvania?
You can find and apply to sales account manager jobs in Pennsylvania on Migrate Mate, which lists current Pennsylvania openings across industries and experience levels. Find roles that fit your background and apply directly from the listing without any additional steps.
