Sales Solutions Engineer Jobs in Utah: Frequently Asked Questions
How do you become a sales solutions engineer in Utah?
The most direct path is a bachelor's degree in computer science, information systems, or engineering combined with experience in a technical role such as software development, IT support, or systems administration. Utah does not require a state-issued license for this role. Most Utah employers, particularly those along the Wasatch Front tech corridor, look for candidates who can demonstrate hands-on product knowledge and the ability to run live technical evaluations with prospective customers.
How much do sales solutions engineers make in Utah?
Sales solutions engineers in Utah earn a median of about $117,650 a year, based on May 2025 Bureau of Labor Statistics wage data, ranging from around $58,570 for the lowest 10% to over $163,550 for the top 10%. Pay rises with experience, specialty, and employer.
Which companies hire sales solutions engineers in Utah?
Companies currently hiring sales solutions engineers in Utah include 3form, Ovivo, and Kadence, per current listings on Migrate Mate as of November 2026. Utah's dense concentration of enterprise software and cloud infrastructure companies means that openings appear across both large-name headquarters and well-funded growth-stage firms based in Salt Lake City and the Silicon Slopes area.
Which Utah cities have the most sales solutions engineer jobs?
Salt Lake City, Lehi, and Orem hold the most sales solutions engineer openings in Utah. Salt Lake City dominates as the state's commercial hub, while Provo and Lehi benefit from the Silicon Slopes cluster of software and technology companies that have made that corridor one of the most active hiring zones for technical sales roles in the Mountain West.
Are there remote sales solutions engineer jobs in Utah?
Yes, and more than most fields. About 100% of sales solutions engineer openings tied to Utah are remote or hybrid as of November 2026, reflecting how frequently the role involves virtual product demonstrations and video-based customer discovery. The most remote-friendly sub-functions are pre-sales scoping and proof-of-concept work, while roles requiring on-site customer environments or hardware integration tend to require a local presence.
How can I get hired as a sales solutions engineer in Utah with little or no experience?
The most realistic entry path is moving laterally from a technical support, implementation, or business development role at a Utah software company. Large employers in the Silicon Slopes area, including Adobe and Qualtrics, recruit for associate solutions engineer and technical sales development programs that are open to candidates with strong product aptitude rather than years of pre-sales experience. Building a portfolio of demo recordings or technical writeups and obtaining a vendor certification in a platform like Salesforce or AWS gives candidates a concrete edge in competitive applicant pools.
Where can I find and apply to sales solutions engineer jobs in Utah?
