Sales Support Specialist Jobs in Maryland: Frequently Asked Questions
How do you become a sales support specialist in Maryland?
Most Maryland employers hire sales support specialists with an associate or bachelor's degree in business, marketing, communications, or a related field, though some accept equivalent work experience. Maryland does not require a state-issued license for this role. Candidates who gain proficiency in Salesforce or a comparable CRM and build experience in customer-facing administrative or coordination roles are most competitive. Defense and federal contractors in Maryland often prefer candidates familiar with government procurement workflows.
Which companies hire sales support specialists in Maryland?
Companies currently hiring sales support specialists in Maryland include The Good Feet Store, PSI, and Herr Foods, per current listings on Migrate Mate as of September 2026. Maryland's concentration of defense contractors, health insurers, and federal IT services firms makes it one of the more active mid-Atlantic markets for this role year-round.
Which Maryland cities have the most sales support specialist jobs?
Bel Air, Columbia, and Annapolis account for the largest share of sales support specialist openings in Maryland. Baltimore drives volume through its healthcare systems, financial services firms, and logistics companies, while Rockville and the broader Montgomery County corridor reflect the concentration of federal contractors, biotech companies, and technology services firms that rely heavily on inside sales and account support staff.
How can I get hired as a sales support specialist in Maryland with little or no experience?
The most realistic entry path is an administrative or customer service coordinator role at a Maryland-based healthcare system, insurance company, or federal contractor, then transitioning internally to a sales support function. Employers such as CareFirst BlueCross BlueShield and large Bethesda-area IT services firms regularly hire entry-level account coordinators and inside sales associates who can grow into full sales support roles. Completing a Salesforce Administrator credential or a Microsoft certification gives candidates without direct experience a concrete advantage in Baltimore and the I-270 corridor.
Where can I find and apply to sales support specialist jobs in Maryland?
You can find and apply to sales support specialist jobs in Maryland on Migrate Mate, which lists current Maryland openings updated in real time. Search for roles that match your experience level and location preference, then apply directly to the ones that fit.
