Territory Account Manager Jobs in Maryland: Frequently Asked Questions
How do you become a territory account manager in Maryland?
Most territory account manager roles in Maryland require a bachelor's degree, typically in business, marketing, or a field aligned to the industry you want to sell into, such as life sciences or information technology. Maryland does not require a state-issued license for this role. Employers in the Baltimore and D.C. suburbs prioritize candidates who can document consistent quota attainment or show deep knowledge of a regulated sector like healthcare or federal contracting.
How much do territory account managers make in Maryland?
Territory account managers in Maryland earn a median of about $73,080 a year, based on May 2025 Bureau of Labor Statistics wage data, ranging from around $44,170 for the lowest 10% to over $135,160 for the top 10%. Pay rises with experience, specialty, and employer.
Which companies hire territory account managers in Maryland?
Maryland territory account manager roles are posted by Amedisys, Trex Company, and Cardinal Health and others right now, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of September 2026. Maryland's concentration of federal contractors, health systems, and life sciences firms along the I-270 corridor and in the Baltimore metro creates a wide range of employer types actively recruiting for this role.
Which Maryland cities have the most territory account manager jobs?
Baltimore, Columbia, and Hagerstown have the most territory account manager openings in Maryland. Baltimore anchors the largest share of demand thanks to its healthcare systems and port-adjacent distribution businesses, while Rockville, Gaithersburg, and Bethesda generate strong openings tied to the biotech cluster and federal agency proximity along the I-270 corridor.
Are there remote territory account manager jobs in Maryland?
Yes, but they're rare. Territory account management is inherently field-based, so most roles require regular in-person visits to accounts within an assigned geography. About 100% of territory account manager openings tied to Maryland are remote or hybrid as of September 2026, and those tend to be in software or inside-sales hybrid arrangements rather than traditional field roles.
How can I get hired as a territory account manager in Maryland with little or no experience?
The most realistic entry path is a sales development representative or inside sales role at a Maryland-based employer in healthcare technology, federal IT, or life sciences, where mentorship toward a field territory is common. Large Maryland employers such as Leidos and CareFirst often post associate account manager or sales rotational positions designed for early-career candidates. A background in clinical work, lab sciences, or a federal agency internship can substitute for direct sales history when applying to regulated-industry roles.
Where can I find and apply to territory account manager jobs in Maryland?
