Territory Account Manager Jobs in New York: Frequently Asked Questions
How do you become a territory account manager in New York?
Most territory account manager roles in New York require a bachelor's degree in business, marketing, communications, or a field tied to the industry you want to sell in. There is no state-issued sales license for this role, but pharmaceutical and medical device employers often require CNPR certification or comparable product training before you can represent their lines in New York. Building experience in inside sales or account coordination first is the most common path into a full territory role.
How much do territory account managers make in New York?
Territory account managers in New York earn a median of about $79,590 a year, based on May 2025 Bureau of Labor Statistics wage data, ranging from around $47,070 for the lowest 10% to over $156,400 for the top 10%. Pay rises with experience, specialty, and employer.
Which companies hire territory account managers in New York?
Employers hiring territory account managers in New York right now include New York Blood Center, Daiichi Sankyo US, and EVERSANA, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of June 2026. New York's density of pharmaceutical headquarters, enterprise technology firms, and regional distribution hubs means openings turn over frequently across all five boroughs and the broader tri-state corridor.
Which New York cities have the most territory account manager jobs?
New York, Albany, and Syracuse consistently post the most territory account manager openings in New York. New York City dominates because of its concentration of corporate headquarters, enterprise clients, and major healthcare systems, while White Plains draws hiring from the Westchester pharma and financial services corridor, and Buffalo anchors demand from regional manufacturers and distribution operations in western New York.
Are there remote territory account manager jobs in New York?
Yes, but they're rare. Territory account management is inherently field-based, meaning most roles require regular in-person visits to clients across a defined geographic area. About 17% of territory account manager openings tied to New York are remote or hybrid as of June 2026, and those tend to be inside-territory or overlay roles where prospecting and account reviews happen by video or phone rather than in person.
How can I get hired as a territory account manager in New York with little or no experience?
The most realistic entry path is through a sales development representative or inside sales associate role at a New York-based technology, distribution, or life sciences company, then transitioning to a junior territory role after demonstrating quota attainment. Large New York employers in pharma such as Pfizer and in enterprise software regularly run structured sales associate programs that rotate new hires through account management before assigning a territory. Earning a CNPR certification or a HubSpot sales credential before applying gives candidates a concrete edge over other entry-level applicants.
Where can I find and apply to territory account manager jobs in New York?
You can find and apply to territory account manager jobs in New York on Migrate Mate, which lists current New York openings updated regularly. Search the listings, find the roles that fit your experience and target territory, and apply directly to each one.
