Territory Account Manager Jobs in New Jersey: Frequently Asked Questions
How do you become a territory account manager in New Jersey?
Most territory account manager roles in New Jersey require a bachelor's degree, typically in business, marketing, life sciences, or a technical field relevant to the industry. No state-issued license is required for the general role, but pharmaceutical and medical device companies in New Jersey commonly expect candidates to complete internal product training and compliance certification before working independently. Starting in inside sales or as a sales development representative at a New Jersey-based company is the most direct path to a territory role.
How much do territory account managers make in New Jersey?
Territory account managers in New Jersey earn a median of about $79,410 a year, based on May 2025 Bureau of Labor Statistics wage data, ranging from around $47,910 for the lowest 10% to over $169,820 for the top 10%. Pay rises with experience, specialty, and employer.
Which companies hire territory account managers in New Jersey?
Employers hiring territory account managers in New Jersey right now include Shermco Industries, Baxter, and Tolmar, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of September 2026. New Jersey's dense concentration of pharmaceutical headquarters and technology service firms means hiring is consistent throughout the year, particularly in the Route 1 corridor between Princeton and New Brunswick.
Which New Jersey cities have the most territory account manager jobs?
Newark, Trenton, and Jersey City have the most territory account manager openings in New Jersey. Newark drives volume through its logistics, financial services, and healthcare sectors, Princeton and Edison anchor pharmaceutical and technology hiring along the Route 1 corridor, and smaller suburban markets like Parsippany and Bridgewater see consistent openings from the large corporate campuses concentrated there.
Are there remote territory account manager jobs in New Jersey?
Yes, but they're limited, since territory account management is inherently field-based and requires regular in-person visits to clients within an assigned geography. About 33% of territory account manager openings tied to New Jersey are remote or hybrid as of September 2026, and those tend to be roles where account planning, reporting, and virtual demos replace some field time. The most remote-eligible sub-roles are in software and technology services rather than pharmaceutical or medical device sales.
How can I get hired as a territory account manager in New Jersey with little or no experience?
The most realistic entry path is starting as an inside sales representative or sales development representative at a New Jersey employer, then transitioning to a territory role after demonstrating quota performance. Large pharmaceutical and medical device companies in the Princeton and Parsippany areas run structured associate sales representative programs designed for recent graduates. Completing a Certified Professional Sales Person credential or a relevant life sciences certificate strengthens applications. Lateral moves from clinical specialist, customer success, or account coordinator roles are also common routes into territory management.
Where can I find and apply to territory account manager jobs in New Jersey?
You can find and apply to territory account manager jobs in New Jersey on Migrate Mate, which lists current New Jersey openings updated regularly. Search by city or specialty to narrow results to the territory and industry that fit your background, then apply directly to the roles that match.
