Talent Acquisition Manager Jobs in Virginia: Frequently Asked Questions
How do you become a talent acquisition manager in Virginia?
Virginia does not require a state-issued license to work as a talent acquisition manager, so the path runs through education and accumulated recruiting experience. Most Virginia employers expect a bachelor's degree in human resources, business, or a related field, followed by several years of full-cycle recruiting work before moving into a management seat. Earning a SHRM-CP or PHR credential signals professional readiness and is widely valued across Virginia's defense contracting, healthcare, and government consulting sectors.
Which companies hire talent acquisition managers in Virginia?
Employers hiring talent acquisition managers in Virginia right now include Amazon, Capital One, and Sentara, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of August 2026. Virginia's concentration of federal contractors and large healthcare networks means demand for experienced talent leaders stays consistent across both the public-sector-adjacent and commercial hiring markets.
Which Virginia cities have the most talent acquisition manager jobs?
Richmond, Arlington, and McLean have the most talent acquisition manager openings in Virginia. Northern Virginia leads because of its dense cluster of defense contractors and federal consulting firms, Richmond draws demand from financial services headquarters and major health systems, and Virginia Beach reflects the hiring needs of both military-support contractors and regional healthcare and retail employers operating throughout Hampton Roads.
Are there remote talent acquisition manager jobs in Virginia?
Yes, and more than most fields, because talent acquisition work is largely desk-based, communication-driven, and technology-enabled. About 50% of talent acquisition manager openings tied to Virginia are remote or hybrid as of August 2026, reflecting how broadly employers have accepted distributed TA teams. Sourcing, screening, and program coordination functions are the most consistently remote, while roles tied to executive hiring or federal contractor compliance tend to require more regular in-person presence.
How can I get hired as a talent acquisition manager in Virginia with little or no experience?
The most realistic entry path is moving into a talent acquisition coordinator or recruiter role first, then building toward management over time. Large Virginia employers like Booz Allen Hamilton, Inova Health System, and Leidos regularly hire early-career HR and recruiting coordinators through new-grad and rotational programs. Adjacent roles in HR generalist, sourcing specialist, or staffing agency recruiting translate directly to in-house TA teams. Completing a SHRM-CP or PHR while in a coordinator seat gives candidates a concrete credential that Virginia hiring managers recognize as a readiness signal.
Where can I find and apply to talent acquisition manager jobs in Virginia?
You can find and apply to talent acquisition manager jobs in Virginia on Migrate Mate, which lists current Virginia openings updated regularly. Search the listings, find roles that fit your experience and target location, and apply directly to the employers posting them.
