- Optimize CIP circuits, recovery, and sanitation effectiveness; ensure process improvements maintain or improve food safety and sanitation performance
- Ensure process changes comply with safety standards and safe-work practices; participate in risk assessments where applicable and champion safe implementation of process changes
- Partner with operations, maintenance, quality, and engineering teams to implement process improvements with minimal disruption to production
- Support line balancing, capacity analysis, and performance benchmarking across sites or production areas
- Apply continuous improvement methodologies to drive measurable operational gains
- Analyze production and performance data to track results, identify trends, and inform decision-making
- Assist in root-cause analysis for chronic process issues, quality defects, or reliability challenges
- Support operator training and change management associated with new or updated process standards
- Contribute to the development of scalable process templates and playbooks deployable across ACI operations
We are looking for candidates who possess the following:
- Bachelor’s degree in chemical engineering, mechanical engineering, industrial engineering, or a related discipline
- 5 plus years of experience in dairy or refrigerated food manufacturing environments, supporting fluid milk, cultured products, cheese, ice cream, or related dairy processes
- Hands on experience with dairy unit operations, including pasteurization (HTST/UHT), homogenization, separation/standardization, fermentation, freezing, and packaging
- Exposure to industrial controls and automation in dairy processing environments (e.g., PLC/SCADA systems such as Rockwell, Siemens, Wonderware) and recipe management / process control limits
- Experience extracting and working with manufacturing/process data from systems such as FactoryTalk, Ignition, or similar; basic SQL or data-extraction skills preferred
- Familiarity with dairy regulatory and quality frameworks, including FDA/PMO requirements, HACCP, and internal quality standards
- Demonstrated experience optimizing production lines in a regulated or quality-driven manufacturing environment
- Strong understanding of dairy mass balance, yield drivers, and loss points (e.g., cream losses, trim, rework, CIP interface losses)
- Experience working directly on the plant floor to diagnose issues and implement improvements
- Proven ability to translate analytical findings into practical, operator-ready solutions
- Experience supporting multi-site manufacturing organizations or standardized production platforms

Tips for Finding H-1B Sponsorship Jobs in Idaho
Target Boise's semiconductor and tech corridor
Micron Technology is one of Idaho's largest H-1B sponsors, and its presence has attracted a cluster of semiconductor, engineering, and advanced manufacturing employers in the Boise metro. Focus your search on this corridor first.
Look beyond Boise to regional health systems
St. Luke's Health System and Saint Alphonsus Regional Medical Center sponsor H-1B roles across Idaho, including in smaller markets like Twin Falls and Pocatello. Healthcare is one of the most consistent sponsorship sources statewide.
Research Idaho's public universities as employers
The University of Idaho and Boise State University sponsor H-1B petitions for research, engineering, and STEM faculty roles. University positions are cap-exempt, which means no lottery and year-round filing.
Use DOL disclosure data to identify active sponsors
The Department of Labor's OFLC disclosure database lists every certified Labor Condition Application by employer and state. Searching Idaho-specific filings shows which employers have actively sponsored H-1B workers recently.
Search Migrate Mate to filter by H-1B sponsorship
Migrate Mate lets you filter jobs specifically by visa sponsorship type, so you can surface Idaho employers actively hiring H-1B candidates without manually reviewing hundreds of postings that don't offer sponsorship.
Align your application to specialty occupation standards
Idaho employers, particularly in agriculture technology and food science, sometimes post roles where degree requirements are ambiguous. Confirm any role you pursue requires a specific bachelor's degree field, since that is the core H-1B eligibility threshold.

Which industries in Idaho sponsor the most H-1B visas?
Healthcare and technology account for the largest share of H-1B visa sponsorships in Idaho. Major health systems consistently file petitions for physicians, nurses in specialty roles, and allied health professionals. The semiconductor and electronics sector, anchored by Micron Technology in Boise, is the other primary driver, alongside higher education institutions sponsoring research and faculty positions.
Which cities in Idaho have the most H-1B sponsorship jobs?
Boise is by far the most active city for H-1B sponsorship in Idaho, home to Micron Technology, major health systems, and a growing technology sector. Idaho Falls and Pocatello have smaller but consistent activity through regional hospitals and Idaho National Laboratory, which sponsors research and engineering roles.
What types of roles typically qualify for H-1B sponsorship in Idaho?
Roles that qualify for H-1B sponsorship in Idaho are those classified as specialty occupations, meaning they require at least a bachelor's degree in a specific field. Common qualifying roles include software engineers, electrical engineers, physicians, registered nurses in advanced practice, data analysts, and research scientists, particularly in semiconductor manufacturing, healthcare, and university settings.
How do I find H-1B sponsorship jobs in Idaho?
Start with the DOL OFLC disclosure database to identify Idaho employers who have filed Labor Condition Applications, which is a reliable indicator of active H-1B sponsorship. Migrate Mate is also built specifically for international job seekers and lets you filter Idaho job listings by visa type, including H-1B, so you can focus your time on employers who are already set up to sponsor.
What is the prevailing wage for H-1B jobs in Idaho?
U.S. employers sponsoring a visa must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is what workers in the same role, area, and experience level typically earn. The Department of Labor sets this rate to make sure companies aren't hiring foreign workers simply because they'd accept lower pay than a U.S. worker. It varies by job title, location, and experience. You can look up current prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the OFLC Wage Search page.
