Which distribution & wholesale companies sponsor H-1B visas in Minnesota?
Minnesota's largest distribution and wholesale employers with documented H-1B visa sponsorship histories include Target Corporation, C.H. Robinson Worldwide, Sysco's Minnesota operations, and Supervalu. These companies have filed Labor Condition Applications for roles in supply chain management, logistics technology, and data analytics. Sponsorship activity is concentrated among large, established firms with dedicated HR and immigration compliance teams rather than smaller regional distributors.
Which cities in Minnesota have the most distribution & wholesale H-1B sponsorship jobs?
The Minneapolis-Saint Paul metro area accounts for the overwhelming majority of distribution and wholesale H-1B activity in Minnesota, driven by the headquarters presence of Target, C.H. Robinson, and several regional food distributors. Eden Prairie and Plymouth, as suburban commercial corridors, also host significant warehouse and logistics operations. Rochester sees smaller but growing activity tied to regional wholesale supply chains serving the medical and healthcare sectors.
What types of distribution & wholesale roles typically qualify for H-1B sponsorship?
H-1B sponsorship in distribution and wholesale is generally limited to specialty occupation roles requiring at least a bachelor's degree in a specific field. Qualifying positions commonly include supply chain analysts, logistics technology engineers, data scientists supporting demand forecasting, procurement specialists, and operations research analysts. Roles like warehouse associate or general logistics coordinator typically do not meet the specialty occupation threshold required for H-1B classification.
How do I find distribution & wholesale H-1B sponsorship jobs in Minnesota?
Migrate Mate is built specifically for international job seekers and filters distribution and wholesale roles by visa sponsorship type, including H-1B, across Minnesota. Rather than sifting through general job postings, you can browse positions where employers have an active sponsorship history. Migrate Mate also surfaces company-level sponsorship data, so you can prioritize outreach to Minnesota employers who have filed H-1B petitions for distribution and wholesale roles before.
Are there any Minnesota-specific considerations for H-1B sponsorship in distribution & wholesale?
Minnesota's distribution sector is heavily tied to food wholesale, third-party logistics, and retail supply chains, which affects the types of specialty roles that come with sponsorship. The state's concentration of Fortune 500 company headquarters in the Twin Cities means more in-house immigration legal teams, which can streamline the H-1B petition process compared to smaller regional employers. Minnesota also has no state-level immigration filing requirements, so the federal H-1B process applies directly.
What is the prevailing wage for H-1B distribution & wholesale jobs in Minnesota?
U.S. employers sponsoring a visa must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is what workers in the same role, area, and experience level typically earn. The Department of Labor sets this rate to make sure companies aren't hiring foreign workers simply because they'd accept lower pay than a U.S. worker. It varies by job title, location, and experience. You can look up current prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the OFLC Wage Search page.
