Which energy companies in New Hampshire sponsor H-1B visas?
Eversource Energy and Liberty Utilities are the most established energy employers in New Hampshire with documented H-1B sponsorship history. NextEra Energy and Granite Shore Power have also operated in the state. Sponsorship patterns vary by role and year, so reviewing Department of Labor LCA disclosure data is the most reliable way to confirm which companies have filed on behalf of foreign workers in energy-related positions.
Which cities in New Hampshire have the most energy H-1B sponsorship jobs?
Manchester and Concord hold the highest concentration of energy sector employment in New Hampshire, as both host utility company offices and state regulatory functions. The Seacoast region, including Portsmouth, is also relevant given proximity to grid infrastructure and emerging offshore wind planning activity. For roles tied to nuclear energy, areas near the former Seabrook Station nuclear plant retain some specialized workforce presence.
What types of energy roles typically qualify for H-1B sponsorship in New Hampshire?
H-1B sponsorship in New Hampshire's energy sector most commonly applies to roles requiring at least a bachelor's degree in a specific technical field. Electrical engineers, power systems engineers, grid operations analysts, environmental compliance specialists, and energy project managers are examples of positions that can meet the specialty occupation standard. Roles requiring a general degree without a field-specific requirement are less likely to qualify under USCIS criteria.
How do I find energy H-1B sponsorship jobs in New Hampshire?
Migrate Mate is built specifically for international job seekers and filters energy H-1B sponsorship jobs in New Hampshire by visa type and industry, saving you the time of sorting through postings that don't offer sponsorship. Because New Hampshire's energy market is smaller than states like Texas or California, setting up alerts on Migrate Mate for new postings ensures you don't miss openings as they appear from utilities, grid operators, and renewable energy developers active in the state.
Are there any New Hampshire-specific considerations for H-1B sponsorship in the energy sector?
New Hampshire's energy sector is heavily regulated at the state level through the New Hampshire Public Utilities Commission, which influences hiring timelines and headcount at major utilities. The state's relatively small size means fewer total H-1B filings compared to larger markets, but this also means less competition for available roles. Offshore wind development tied to New Hampshire's short coastline is an emerging area that may generate new sponsorship opportunities in engineering and permitting over time.
What is the prevailing wage for H-1B energy jobs in New Hampshire?
U.S. employers sponsoring a visa must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is what workers in the same role, area, and experience level typically earn. The Department of Labor sets this rate to make sure companies aren't hiring foreign workers simply because they'd accept lower pay than a U.S. worker. It varies by job title, location, and experience. You can look up current prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the OFLC Wage Search page.
