Which food & beverage companies sponsor H-1B visas in Ohio?
Ohio is home to several large food and beverage employers with documented H-1B sponsorship histories. Wendy's International in Dublin, Bob Evans Farms in Columbus, and manufacturing operations from Nestlé and Campbell Soup have filed H-1B petitions for corporate and technical staff. Larger companies with established HR and legal infrastructure are far more likely to sponsor than smaller regional food businesses or independent restaurants.
Which cities in Ohio have the most food & beverage H-1B sponsorship jobs?
Columbus is Ohio's primary hub for food and beverage H-1B sponsorship, driven by corporate headquarters and a strong business services sector supporting the industry. Cincinnati follows closely, with a concentration of food science, supply chain, and quality assurance roles tied to manufacturing facilities in the greater metro area. Cleveland also has active hiring in food processing and distribution, particularly for engineering and operations roles requiring specialized degrees.
What types of food & beverage roles typically qualify for H-1B sponsorship in Ohio?
H-1B sponsorship in food and beverage requires the position to qualify as a specialty occupation, meaning it must typically require at least a bachelor's degree in a specific field. Roles that commonly meet this standard include food scientists, quality assurance engineers, process engineers, research and development chemists, supply chain analysts, and corporate functions like finance and information technology embedded within food companies. Production floor or general management roles less commonly meet the specialty occupation threshold.
How do I find food & beverage H-1B sponsorship jobs in Ohio?
Migrate Mate lets you filter job listings specifically by visa type and industry, making it straightforward to browse food and beverage H-1B sponsorship opportunities in Ohio without sorting through roles that don't offer sponsorship. Because employers don't always advertise sponsorship willingness prominently, using a platform built around visa sponsorship data saves significant time. Focusing your search on Columbus and Cincinnati will surface the highest concentration of relevant Ohio listings.
Are there any Ohio-specific or industry-specific considerations for H-1B sponsorship in food & beverage?
Ohio's food and beverage sector is heavily manufacturing-oriented, which means many available jobs are plant-based roles that may not meet the specialty occupation standard required for H-1B eligibility. Candidates with degrees in food science, chemical engineering, or operations research are better positioned for sponsorable roles than those with general business backgrounds. Ohio does not have state-level work visa programs, so all sponsorship flows through the federal H-1B process, including the annual cap and lottery for cap-subject petitions.
What is the prevailing wage for H-1B food & beverage jobs in Ohio?
U.S. employers sponsoring a visa must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is what workers in the same role, area, and experience level typically earn. The Department of Labor sets this rate to make sure companies aren't hiring foreign workers simply because they'd accept lower pay than a U.S. worker. It varies by job title, location, and experience. You can look up current prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the OFLC Wage Search page.
