Oracle eBusiness Technical Analyst
Houston, TX (100% on-site)
Duration: 6-month initial contract
Pay: $85-09/hr
We are seeking an experienced Oracle eBusiness Technical Analyst to support an on-premise R12.2.10 environment. This role will work with minimal supervision to provide functional application support for customizations and extensions across Oracle Finance and/or Oracle Projects modules. The analyst will support business users, participate in change management activities, and help ensure high-quality service delivery and user satisfaction. This position requires close collaboration with business stakeholders and participation as part of a larger Oracle support team.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide functional and limited technical support for Oracle E-Business Suite modules including:
- Finance: AR, AP, GL, CM, FA, iExpense, iSupplier
- Projects: Costing, Billing, Accounting
- Support customizations, extensions, and standard functionality within Oracle EBS.
- Work directly with business users to understand system issues and operational challenges.
- Investigate and troubleshoot application problems, identify root causes, and recommend corrective actions or workarounds.
- Distinguish between standard functionality and custom enhancements.
- Use SQL, diagnostics scripts, and query tools to analyze data, produce ad-hoc reports, and identify data integrity issues.
- Develop data correction scripts when inconsistencies or defects occur.
- Participate in conference room pilots, user acceptance testing (UAT), and validation of defect fixes and enhancements.
- Complete required change management activities and comply with internal control requirements (including SOX where applicable).
- Apply project management principles and best practices throughout the support and enhancement lifecycle.
- Maintain documentation, track deliverables, and provide status updates to management.
- Continuously develop business and system knowledge through training, documentation, and research.
- Work collaboratively with cross-functional teams and Oracle support as needed.
- Travel up to 10% may be required.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Information Systems, or related field, or equivalent experience.
- 5-7+ years of experience supporting Oracle E-Business Suite, preferably in Finance and/or Oracle Projects.
- Strong understanding of data flow between subledgers and General Ledger.
- Experience supporting production environments in a customer-facing role.
- Ability to troubleshoot functional and data-related issues independently.
- 3+ years of experience with SQL / PL-SQL.
- Knowledge of Oracle EBS data model and architecture in Finance and Projects.
- Ability to review and understand workflow logic, BI Publisher reports, and Apex components.
- Experience generating ad-hoc reports and analyzing system data.
- Strong communication skills and ability to explain technical concepts to business users.
- Experience working in a team-based development/support environment.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with Oracle Apex development.
- Familiarity with Agile methodologies (Scrum, Kanban).
- Experience working in multi-developer or enterprise support teams.
- Experience participating in change management and release processes.
- Background as a techno-functional analyst, business analyst with technical skills, or QA analyst supporting Oracle applications.
