Account Manager Jobs in Delaware: Frequently Asked Questions
How do you become a account manager in Delaware?
Most account manager roles in Delaware require a bachelor's degree in business, marketing, or a related field, though no state-issued license applies to the role itself. Employers in Wilmington's financial sector often expect familiarity with financial products and regulatory environments, while life sciences firms near Newark or the I-95 corridor look for candidates with industry-specific knowledge. Building experience in inside sales, customer success, or business development roles at Delaware-based companies is the most direct path.
How much do account managers make in Delaware?
Account managers in Delaware earn a median of about $67,540 a year, based on May 2025 Bureau of Labor Statistics wage data, ranging from around $39,920 for the lowest 10% to over $121,530 for the top 10%. Pay rises with experience, specialty, and employer.
Which companies hire account managers in Delaware?
Delaware account manager roles are posted by State Farm, Solenis, and JPMorganChase and others right now, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of July 2026. Delaware's concentration of corporate headquarters and financial institutions means account management openings appear consistently across both large enterprises and mid-sized regional firms.
Which Delaware cities have the most account manager jobs?
Wilmington, Newark, and Dover lead Delaware for account manager openings. Wilmington dominates because it hosts the U.S. headquarters of major banks and credit card companies, while Dover draws demand from state government contractors and regional distributors, and Newark benefits from its proximity to the University of Delaware and a cluster of corporate research and commercial operations.
Are there remote account manager jobs in Delaware?
Yes, and more than many fields, since account management is primarily relationship-driven work done over phone, video, and email. About 38% of account manager openings tied to Delaware are remote or hybrid as of July 2026, reflecting demand from Wilmington-based financial firms and national companies with Delaware-registered corporate presences. Strategic account and enterprise account roles tend to offer the most remote flexibility.
How can I get hired as a account manager in Delaware with little or no experience?
The most realistic entry path is through a sales development representative or customer success associate role at one of Wilmington's financial services or specialty chemicals firms, where structured onboarding programs are common. DuPont and Chemours, for example, run rotational commercial programs that place early-career candidates into client-facing positions. A demonstrated ability to manage relationships, combined with a relevant internship or coursework in business, makes candidates competitive for associate account manager titles that serve as a direct stepping stone.
Where can I find and apply to account manager jobs in Delaware?
You can find and apply to account manager jobs in Delaware on Migrate Mate, which lists current Delaware openings from employers across Wilmington, Dover, Newark, and beyond. Find roles that fit your background and apply directly to the ones that match.
