Account Manager Jobs in North Dakota: Frequently Asked Questions
How do you become a account manager in North Dakota?
Most account manager roles in North Dakota require a bachelor's degree in business, marketing, or a related field, though no state-issued license applies to the role itself. Employers in agriculture and financial services often favor candidates with industry-specific knowledge, and those pursuing insurance-focused account management must hold an active North Dakota producer license issued through the North Dakota Insurance Department. Building experience in inside sales, customer service, or a relevant industry strengthens candidacy considerably.
How much do account managers make in North Dakota?
Account managers in North Dakota earn a median of about $66,060 a year, based on May 2025 Bureau of Labor Statistics wage data, ranging from around $34,980 for the lowest 10% to over $146,520 for the top 10%. Pay rises with experience, specialty, and employer.
Which companies hire account managers in North Dakota?
North Dakota account manager roles are posted by State Farm, SustainableHR, and Integrated Power Services and others right now, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of July 2026. North Dakota's agriculture, energy, and regional banking sectors consistently generate steady account manager demand independent of broader national hiring trends.
Which North Dakota cities have the most account manager jobs?
Fargo, Bismarck, and Williston have the most account manager openings in North Dakota. Fargo leads because it is the state's largest metro and home to a concentration of financial services firms, technology companies, and regional corporate offices, while Bismarck's role as the state capital draws government contractors and healthcare organizations, and Grand Forks benefits from university-linked employers and regional agriculture businesses.
Are there remote account manager jobs in North Dakota?
Yes, and they are more common than in most field-based roles. About 53% of account manager openings tied to North Dakota are remote or hybrid as of July 2026, reflecting the desk-based and communication-driven nature of the work. Roles focused on SaaS, financial products, and technology solutions tend to offer the most remote flexibility, while agriculture and energy account management often requires some in-person client visits across the state.
How can I get hired as a account manager in North Dakota with little or no experience?
The most realistic entry path is landing a customer service representative or inside sales associate role with a North Dakota employer and converting that experience into an account management track. Sanford Health, Gate City Bank, and regional agricultural cooperatives regularly hire entry-level client-facing staff who move into account management within one to two years. Completing an industry-relevant certification, such as a North Dakota insurance producer license, or gaining CRM proficiency can make a candidate without direct experience competitive for junior accounts roles.
Where can I find and apply to account manager jobs in North Dakota?
You can find and apply to account manager jobs in North Dakota on Migrate Mate, which lists current North Dakota openings across industries and experience levels. Search the available roles, identify the ones that match your background and target industry, and apply directly to the ones that fit.
