THE OPPORTUNITY
We are seeking an Accounting Specialist to help with our firm growth. This unique opportunity is a highly detail-oriented and analytical role that requires someone with excellent time management and organizational skills. The individual will perform general bookkeeping needs, including but not limited to processing clients’ payroll, preparing sales tax returns, completing bank reconciliations, accounts payable, preparing financial statements and other reports, and researching technical accounting issues.
POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES
- Maintain client’s general ledger, mainly, but not limited to, in Quickbooks Online
- Prepare monthly journal entries on an as needed basis
- Process client’s payroll through 3rd party payroll service
- Prepare sales tax returns
- Prepare bank reconciliations and financial reports by collecting, analyzing and summarizing client’s account information and trends
- Provide A/P services to clients
- Research technical accounting guidance and issues
- Maintain client confidence and protect operations by keeping information confidential
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- 3+ years accounting or bookkeeping experience or degree in Accounting
- Experience working in public accounting firm
- Proficient user of QuickBooks Online, Excel, and Word, and an overall interest in technology
- Excellent organizational and time management skills
- Detail oriented and highly analytical
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to work under pressure in collaborative, fast-paced, deadline-oriented environment
- Self-starter able to work independently as needed
COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS
The compensation range for this position is $15 - $25 per hour based on experience. Benefits include health insurance, matching 401(k), paid time off and a flexible work schedule.
