Behavior Technician Jobs in Montana: Frequently Asked Questions
How do you become a behavior technician in Montana?
The standard path in Montana is to earn a high school diploma, complete the Registered Behavior Technician training program, and pass the RBT competency assessment and exam administered by the Behavior Analyst Certification Board. Montana does not issue a separate state license for behavior technicians, so the RBT credential is the primary hiring requirement. Many employers provide the required training hours and supervision to help new hires obtain their RBT during onboarding.
Which companies hire behavior technicians in Montana?
Montana behavior technician roles are posted by AWARE, ArborSys, and Advanced Therapy Clinic and others right now, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of July 2026. Autism service agencies, community mental health centers, and school districts across Montana are among the most consistent sources of openings.
Which Montana cities have the most behavior technician jobs?
Butte, Missoula, and Great Falls have the most behavior technician openings in Montana. Billings leads because it is the state's largest city and home to major healthcare systems and regional autism service providers, while Missoula and Great Falls follow as university and regional medical centers anchor demand for behavioral health support staff in those communities.
Are there remote behavior technician jobs in Montana?
Yes, but they're rare. Behavior technician work is fundamentally hands-on, requiring direct one-on-one contact with clients in homes, schools, or clinics. About 0% of behavior technician openings tied to Montana are remote or hybrid as of July 2026, and those positions tend to involve telehealth data review, parent training support, or administrative coordination rather than direct client sessions.
How can I get hired as a behavior technician in Montana with little or no experience?
The most realistic entry path is applying directly to autism service agencies and community mental health centers in Billings, Missoula, or Great Falls that hire candidates without prior behavior technician experience and provide paid RBT training on the job. Organizations like RiverStone Health and regional autism service providers in Montana regularly bring on people coming from paraprofessional, direct care, or childcare roles. Completing the RBT credential during onboarding and any relevant coursework in psychology, education, or human services gives candidates a clear edge.
Where can I find and apply to behavior technician jobs in Montana?
You can find and apply to behavior technician jobs in Montana on Migrate Mate, which lists current openings from employers hiring across the state. Search the available roles, find the ones that match your experience and location, and apply directly through the listings.
