Brand Manager Jobs in Michigan: Frequently Asked Questions
How do you become a brand manager in Michigan?
Brand manager roles in Michigan do not require a state-issued license or certification. The standard path is a bachelor's degree in marketing, business, communications, or advertising, followed by experience in a marketing coordinator or assistant brand manager role. Michigan's strong CPG and automotive sectors mean that candidates who build experience in those industries, particularly with consumer insights or product launch work, are well positioned for brand manager openings here.
How much do brand managers make in Michigan?
Brand managers in Michigan earn a median of about $138,510 a year, based on May 2025 Bureau of Labor Statistics wage data, ranging from around $80,260 for the lowest 10% to over $222,910 for the top 10%. Pay rises with experience, specialty, and employer.
Which companies hire brand managers in Michigan?
Employers hiring brand managers in Michigan right now include Stellantis, Carhartt, and Beztak, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of September 2026. Michigan's concentration of CPG headquarters, major automotive manufacturers, and regional retail chains means brand management roles here tend to be embedded in larger in-house marketing departments rather than agency-side.
Which Michigan cities have the most brand manager jobs?
Auburn Hills, Grand Rapids, and Detroit have the most brand manager openings in Michigan. Detroit dominates because of its automotive headquarters and large regional corporate presence, while Grand Rapids draws openings through its concentration of consumer goods, health, and retail companies, and Ann Arbor attracts roles tied to its technology, research, and university-affiliated organizations.
Are there remote brand manager jobs in Michigan?
Yes, and more than many marketing roles. About 57% of brand manager openings tied to Michigan are remote or hybrid as of September 2026, reflecting how much of the work, strategy development, creative briefing, and campaign oversight, can be done off-site. Campaign execution and cross-functional alignment meetings are the aspects most likely to pull brand managers back on-site at Michigan headquarters.
How can I get hired as a brand manager in Michigan with little or no experience?
The most realistic entry path is landing a marketing coordinator or associate brand manager role at a Michigan CPG or retail company, then moving up once you have campaign ownership experience. Large Michigan employers like Kellogg's and Meijer hire marketing associates and rotational program participants from Michigan State University, University of Michigan, and Western Michigan University. Building a portfolio of real or project-based brand work, and earning a Google Analytics or similar digital marketing credential, strengthens applications at the entry level.
Where can I find and apply to brand manager jobs in Michigan?
You can find and apply to brand manager jobs in Michigan on Migrate Mate, which lists current Michigan openings across Detroit, Grand Rapids, Ann Arbor, and other markets. Find roles that match your experience and apply directly to the ones that fit.
