Overview
Goldman Transport Inc. is hiring a hands-on Business Contact to support our FedEx delivery operations, with a primary focus on fleet maintenance, service vendor coordination, vehicle safety equipment, and driver technology support.
This role is ideal for someone with FedEx or similar fleet management experience who is organized, mechanically knowledgeable, comfortable with technology, and willing to get behind the wheel. You will help keep our vehicles safe, reliable, and ready for daily service while supporting drivers and addressing problems as they arise. Driving company vehicles and making deliveries when needed are required parts of this position.
Responsibilities
- Manage preventive maintenance, inspections, oil changes, and repairs across the fleet.
- Coordinate with repair shops, dealerships, tire providers, towing companies, and other service vendors to schedule work, track progress, and minimize vehicle downtime.
- Transport vehicles to and from service appointments and coordinate replacement vehicles as needed.
- Maintain accurate maintenance records, service schedules, and required fleet documentation.
- Follow up on driver-reported vehicle problems, prioritize service needs, and verify repairs are completed before vehicles return to service.
- Install, set up, monitor, and troubleshoot vehicle safety equipment and technology, including cameras, GPS devices, and related systems.
- Assist drivers with mechanical concerns and the use of scanners, mobile devices, delivery applications, and other onboard technology.
- Coordinate roadside assistance and respond to breakdowns, lockouts, and other vehicle issues.
- Work with company management, drivers, and FedEx station personnel to support safe and dependable daily operations.
- Drive company vehicles, provide route coverage, and complete pickups and deliveries when needed.
Qualifications
- At least two years of experience as a FedEx Business Contact, fleet manager, transportation operations supervisor, or in a similar role.
- Working knowledge of vehicle maintenance, common mechanical issues, and repair coordination.
- Experience communicating with service vendors and managing multiple maintenance priorities.
- Comfort installing, configuring, and troubleshooting safety equipment and driver technology.
- Strong organization, communication, problem-solving, and follow-through skills.
- A valid driver’s license appropriate for the vehicles operated and the ability to meet company driving requirements.
- Willingness and ability to drive delivery vehicles and complete pickups and deliveries as needed.
- Familiarity with GroundCloud, FedEx delivery systems, and DRO is preferred.
