Frame your experience around fintech strategy
Brex evaluates Strategy candidates on demonstrated impact in financial services or high-growth tech. Before applying, reframe your resume around market sizing, competitive analysis, or revenue growth work that maps to a fintech context, not generic consulting outputs.
Confirm LCA filing before accepting an offer
Before your offer turns into a start date, ask the recruiting team whether the Labor Condition Application has been filed with DOL. Delays here push back your actual work authorization, which matters if you're transitioning off OPT or a prior employer's H-1B.
Target Strategy roles tied to core business lines
Brex's Strategy function tends to align with its core spend management and corporate card products. Roles connected to these lines are more likely to move through headcount approval quickly, which directly affects how fast sponsorship paperwork gets initiated.
Verify your OPT end date against Brex's hiring cycle
Brex hires Strategy roles on a rolling basis, not cohort cycles. If you have fewer than six months of OPT remaining, flag this early in recruiting conversations so the team can assess whether STEM OPT extension or H-1B cap-gap coverage applies to your timeline.
Use Migrate Mate to filter open Strategy roles by visa type
Sorting by the specific visa types Brex has historically sponsored for Strategy roles saves you from applying to positions where sponsorship isn't actually on the table. Migrate Mate lets you filter by both company and visa category before you spend time on an application.
Prepare a specialty occupation narrative for H-1B filing
USCIS scrutinizes Strategy titles because the role scope varies widely. Work with your employer's immigration counsel to document that your specific position requires at minimum a bachelor's degree in a directly related field, such as economics, finance, or business strategy.

Find Strategy at Brex JobsFrequently Asked Questions
Does Brex sponsor H-1B visas for Strategys?
Yes, Brex sponsors H-1B visas for Strategy roles. The company has an established sponsorship process and works with immigration counsel to support candidates who need H-1B status. If you're subject to the H-1B cap, timing your application around the April USCIS filing window is critical, so raise your visa situation early in the recruiting process.
How do I apply for Strategy jobs at Brex?
Applications go through Brex's careers page, where Strategy roles are listed under Business or Operations functions. Tailor your application to highlight quantitative problem-solving, cross-functional project ownership, and any fintech or financial services exposure. If you need visa sponsorship, note it in your application or raise it with the recruiter on your first call. You can also find and filter open Strategy roles at Brex on Migrate Mate.
Which visa types does Brex commonly sponsor for Strategy roles?
Brex sponsors H-1B, TN, and F-1 OPT and CPT for Strategy positions, and has supported Green Card pathways including EB-2 and EB-3 for longer-tenure employees. TN visas are an option for Canadian and Mexican nationals in qualifying Strategy roles. The right visa type depends on your nationality, degree, and where you are in your immigration timeline.
What qualifications does Brex look for in Strategy candidates?
Brex typically looks for candidates with a background in management consulting, investment banking, or corporate strategy, often at the analyst to senior associate level. Strong SQL skills and experience building financial models are commonly cited in job postings. An MBA from a recognized program or a bachelor's degree in economics, finance, or a quantitative field strengthens your profile, and both matter for H-1B specialty occupation documentation.
How do I plan my timeline if I need sponsorship for a Strategy role at Brex?
If you're on F-1 OPT, confirm your expiration date and whether your degree qualifies for a 24-month STEM extension before you start interviewing. H-1B cap filings open in March for an October 1 start, so an offer finalized in late winter gives you the best timing. For TN status, processing can move faster since there's no lottery. Discuss your situation with Brex's recruiting team before the offer stage so nothing delays your start date.
