Frame your fintech sales experience clearly
Brex recruits BDR and sales roles focused on selling to finance teams and CFOs. Highlight any experience closing deals in financial services, SaaS, or payments, since generalist sales backgrounds get screened out early in their pipeline.
Confirm E-Verify enrollment before applying
Brex is enrolled in E-Verify, which is required for F-1 OPT employment authorization. Verify this through the E-Verify employer search before your offer stage so you're not surprised by authorization delays after signing.
Target roles explicitly open to TN status
Canadian and Mexican nationals can often start faster under TN status than waiting for H-1B cap season. Brex's sales operations and business development titles can qualify under the Management Consultant or Economist TN categories if your duties align.
Align your offer timeline with H-1B cap deadlines
If you need H-1B sponsorship, an offer before the March USCIS registration window is critical. Entering Brex's interview process by January gives you enough runway to receive and negotiate an offer before registration closes.
Use Migrate Mate to filter open BDR roles at Brex
Brex posts across multiple channels and role titles shift frequently. Use Migrate Mate to surface current Sales Business Development openings at Brex that are verified for visa sponsorship, so you're applying to live roles rather than stale listings.
Request clarity on EB-2 or EB-3 intent during negotiation
Brex has filed EB-2 and EB-3 green card petitions for employees, including in go-to-market functions. Before accepting an offer, ask your recruiter directly whether the company initiates PERM-based sponsorship for BDR or sales roles and what the typical tenure expectation is.
Frequently Asked Questions
Does Brex sponsor H-1B visas for Sales Business Developments?
Yes, Brex sponsors H-1B visas for Sales Business Development roles. The company has an established process for supporting H-1B filings through its legal team. If you're currently on OPT and targeting a cap-subject H-1B, timing your offer before the USCIS March registration window is essential. Confirm sponsorship intent with your recruiter before entering the final interview rounds.
Which visa types are commonly used for Sales Business Development roles at Brex?
The most common pathways for Sales Business Development roles at Brex are H-1B, F-1 OPT (including the 24-month STEM extension for qualifying degrees), and TN for Canadian and Mexican nationals. Brex has also sponsored EB-2 and EB-3 green card petitions. The right visa depends on your nationality, current status, and how quickly you need to start.
What qualifications and experience does Brex expect for Sales Business Development roles?
Brex looks for candidates with demonstrable experience in B2B sales, ideally selling financial products, SaaS platforms, or services to finance and operations buyers. Familiarity with CRM tools, pipeline management, and a track record of hitting quota are consistently prioritized. Roles range from entry-level BDR to senior business development, so aligning your application to the correct level improves your odds significantly.
How do I apply for Sales Business Development jobs at Brex?
You can browse current Sales Business Development openings at Brex through Migrate Mate, which filters for roles verified to offer visa sponsorship. From there, apply directly through Brex's careers portal. Tailor your resume to highlight fintech or financial services sales experience, since Brex's recruiting team screens heavily for domain relevance before moving candidates to phone screens.
How do I manage my work authorization timeline when pursuing a role at Brex?
If you're on F-1 OPT, confirm your OPT end date and whether you qualify for the 24-month STEM extension before accepting an offer. If your OPT expires before an H-1B cap filing would take effect on October 1, ask Brex whether a cap-gap or early filing strategy is feasible. Starting this conversation during the offer stage, not after signing, avoids authorization gaps.
