The Executive Operations team is an integral component to company operations, ensuring that our leaders are supported and equipped to be successful and are focused on company goals. As strategic partners, Brex Executive Assistants provide critical support while also contributing to projects that help drive business priorities and strengthen team collaboration.
As the Executive Assistant to the Chief Technology Officer (CTO), you will provide comprehensive, high-leverage support to help drive Brex's engineering strategy and next phase of growth. You will manage the day-to-day operations of their executive office, ensuring seamless communication, strong cross-functional alignment, and operational rigor across engineering.
You will be the steward of their time, managing complex calendars, prioritizing high-impact meetings, coordinating travel and executive engagements, and ensuring follow-through on critical initiatives. You will collaborate closely with engineering leaders and cross-functional partners to keep initiatives moving and ensure the CTO's priorities are reflected across the organization.
In addition to core operational excellence, you will be asked to leverage AI tools to scale your own impact and the CTO's capacity. This goes beyond just synthesizing meeting notes and drafting communications. You should bring excitement and curiosity around AI to automate workflows, support programs, and increase efficiencies across the department.
This role requires strong business judgment, exceptional organizational skills, genuine curiosity about technology and AI, comfort with ambiguity, and the ability to manage multiple workstreams with discretion and professionalism.
Where you'll work

We are a hybrid environment that combines the energy and connections of being in the office with the benefits and flexibility of working from home. We currently require a minimum of three coordinated days in the office per week, Monday, Wednesday and Thursday. As a perk, we also have up to four weeks per year of fully remote work!
Responsibilities
- Manage and prioritize the CTO's calendar across multiple time zones, including internal and external meetings, interviews, and complex domestic and international travel.
- Ensure the CTO is strategically prepared for meetings and speaking engagements by coordinating agendas, presentations, materials, and follow-ups.
- Partner across the broader EPD organization to support key programs, communications, culture initiatives, organizational operations, planning processes, and strategic initiatives that strengthen alignment, engagement, and execution at scale.
- Coordinate and facilitate team, leadership, and All Hands meetings, including preparing materials, capturing notes, tracking action items, and driving accountability to ensure alignment and execution.
- Plan and execute team events, offsites, strategy sessions, and large-scale organizational programs, including company-wide initiatives such as Brex's hackathon, coordinating across stakeholders to drive successful execution and engagement.
- Partner closely with our HR Business Partner to support engagement initiatives, organizational planning, team effectiveness programs, onboarding efforts, and other people-related initiatives across the EPD organization.
- Partner with Recruiting to schedule and facilitate executive interview panels.
- Serve as the on-site point of contact for external partners and candidates, maintaining the highest level of confidentiality and discretion.
- Maintain high responsiveness and professionalism across all communications, supporting internal and external correspondence with clarity and accuracy.
- Partner closely with other Executive Assistants and cross-functional partners to support company-wide initiatives while modeling operational excellence and strong cultural leadership.
Requirements
- 3+ years of administrative experience in a fast-paced environment, ideally supporting technical or engineering leaders
- Outstanding organizational, written/verbal communication, and listening skills, plus high attention to detail
- Strong team-player attitude; needs to work well under pressure and be adaptable in the face of changing priorities
- Excellent problem-solving, time-management, and prioritization skills
- High degree of discretion and integrity, especially when taking care of confidential information
- Demonstrated experience using AI tools to scale personal productivity, draft communications, synthesize information, and automate workflows
- Genuine curiosity about technology, AI, and how engineering organizations work; comfort operating in a highly technical environment
- Expert with G-Suite (Google Calendar, Gmail, Google docs, Google sheets, etc.)
Compensation
The expected salary range for this role is $103,960 - $129,950 USD. However, the starting base pay will depend on a number of factors including the candidate's location, skills, experience, market demands, and internal pay parity. Depending on the position offered, equity and other forms of compensation may be provided as part of a total compensation package.

Align your credentials to specialty occupation standards
Executive Management roles at Brex are most defensible under H-1B when your degree directly maps to the function, such as finance, business strategy, or computer science for a technical leadership role. A generic MBA alone may draw USCIS scrutiny without a tightly framed job duties letter.
Target Brex's cross-functional leadership gaps
Brex frequently builds out leadership at the intersection of financial compliance, product, and enterprise sales. Positioning yourself for roles that straddle regulated fintech operations and growth strategy gives you stronger sponsorship leverage than applying to purely administrative management positions.
Use Migrate Mate to surface open Executive Management roles
Senior roles at Brex don't always stay visible on general job boards for long. Use Migrate Mate to browse current Executive Management openings at Brex filtered by visa sponsorship eligibility, so you're applying before positions close or headcount freezes.
Initiate LCA conversations before the offer stage
Brex's HR and legal teams file the Labor Condition Application with DOL before any H-1B petition moves forward. Asking how your prospective team handles LCA timelines during late-stage interviews signals seriousness and helps you gauge realistic start dates against your current status expiry.
Protect your status window during negotiations
If you're transitioning from F-1 OPT or a prior employer's H-1B, cap-exempt portability rules give you breathing room, but the 60-day grace period after your last role ends is firm. Sequence your Brex start date against your authorized period before signing anything.
Build a documentation file that covers strategic impact
For senior roles, USCIS expects evidence that the position requires a specifically qualified individual, not just managerial experience. Gather board presentations, P&L ownership records, or external recognition in fintech or financial services that demonstrate the specialized nature of your Executive Management work.
Frequently Asked Questions
Does Brex sponsor H-1B visas for Executive Managements?
Yes, Brex sponsors H-1B visas for Executive Management roles where the position qualifies as a specialty occupation. Because senior leadership roles sometimes face additional USCIS scrutiny around the degree requirement, Brex's legal team typically works to frame the job duties narrowly around a specific field such as financial technology, corporate strategy, or engineering leadership to strengthen the petition.
Which visa types are commonly used for Executive Management roles at Brex?
H-1B is the most common pathway for Executive Management hires at Brex. For candidates already in the U.S. on F-1 OPT or CPT, Brex can bridge to H-1B status. TN visas are an option for Canadian and Mexican nationals in qualifying management or professional categories. For longer-term permanent residence, Brex has supported EB-2 and EB-3 sponsorship for senior roles.
How do I apply for Executive Management jobs at Brex?
Applications go through Brex's careers page, but roles at this level move quickly and aren't always indexed widely. Migrate Mate aggregates open Executive Management positions at Brex filtered by visa sponsorship availability, making it easier to find and apply before roles are filled. A strong application at this level should directly address cross-functional fintech leadership experience and measurable business outcomes.
What qualifications does Brex expect for Executive Management candidates?
Brex looks for Executive Management candidates with deep experience in fintech, financial services, or high-growth technology companies. Beyond functional expertise, you'll need a track record of leading cross-functional teams, influencing product or revenue strategy, and operating in regulated financial environments. A relevant bachelor's or advanced degree in finance, business, or a technical field is typically expected and may be required for H-1B sponsorship eligibility.
How do I think about timing when pursuing a sponsored Executive Management role at Brex?
If you need H-1B sponsorship, Brex must file your petition with USCIS before your current work authorization expires, and the Labor Condition Application with DOL must be certified first, which adds two to four weeks minimum before filing. Premium processing reduces the USCIS adjudication window to around 15 business days. If you're mid-H-1B with a current employer, Brex can file a concurrent or transfer petition under H-1B portability rules.
