Product at Brex
The Product team is at the forefront of Brex's mission to empower employees anywhere to make better financial decisions. With a deep understanding of the business, Product identifies, scopes out, and helps build the most impactful opportunities for Brex to tackle. We are responsible for aligning cross-functional teams — such as Engineering, Legal, Compliance, and Design — on key decisions. We set strategy and drive products from inception to launch, enabling Brex to grow rapidly and help our customers reach their full potential.
What You’ll Do
As a Group Product Manager, you'll own a product area that sits at the center of Brex's highest-priority bets, setting the multi-quarter vision, making hard prioritization calls, and ensuring your team delivers outcomes that move company-level metrics, not just ship features. This means operating across several modes. Leading strategy, identifying where AI and automation can meaningfully change the customer experience rather than just adding novelty. You’ll be building teams and leading PMs who think clearly, operate independently, and raise their own bar over time. And you'll be a cross-functional operator, driving alignment with Engineering, Design, Data, Risk, Legal, and GTM leaders on initiatives that don't fit neatly into one team's roadmap. We expect you to use AI tools aggressively in your own work: for discovery, analysis, prototyping, and decision-making. You’ll also bring that same mindset to how your team builds products. The role is as much about scaling judgment and raising standards as it is about shipping.
Where you’ll work
This role will be based in either our San Francisco, Seattle, Vancouver, or New York City office. You must be willing to work in the office at least 3 days per week on Monday, Wednesday and Thursday. Employees will be able to work remotely for up to 4 weeks per year, for a minimum of one week at a time.
Responsibilities
- Define and own the multi-quarter vision and strategy for a core product area aligned to Brex’s highest company priorities. Identify and prioritize the highest-leverage opportunities that drive durable customer and business impact.
- Manage and develop a team of Product Managers, providing coaching, feedback, and career development. Foster a culture of ownership, accountability, and continuous improvement.
- Partner closely with Engineering, Design, Data, Risk, Legal, Compliance, Finance, and GTM leaders to deliver complex, cross-functional initiatives.
- Experience incorporating AI/ML capabilities (e.g., LLMs, automation systems, predictive models) into customer-facing or internal products, with a strong understanding of where AI meaningfully improves user experience, efficiency, or decision quality.
- Demonstrated ability to leverage AI tools to accelerate product discovery, analysis, experimentation, and execution (e.g., rapid prototyping, customer insight synthesis, requirement drafting, data exploration).
- Establish strong planning, prioritization, and execution frameworks across your portfolio. Define success metrics tied to company-level outcomes and ensure your team delivers measurable results.
Requirements
- 7+ years in product management, with direct experience managing and developing PMs.
- Have owned and scaled complex product areas in B2B, SaaS, or fintech, including driving measurable business outcomes across a multi-team portfolio.
- Can set strategy across multiple product surfaces and translate it into roadmaps your team actually executes against.
- Technically fluent enough to engage in architecture and systems tradeoffs with Engineering, not just defer to them.
- Data-driven by default: you define the metrics, design the experiments, and use the results to make calls.
- Comfortable operating in ambiguity, making prioritization tradeoffs with incomplete information, and bringing senior stakeholders along.
- Clear, concise communicator — written and verbal — who can distill complex product problems into narratives that land with executives and cross-functional partners alike.
Compensation
The expected salary range for this role is $280,000 - $350,000. However, the starting base pay will depend on a number of factors including the candidate’s location, skills, experience, market demands, and internal pay parity. Depending on the position offered, equity and other forms of compensation may be provided as part of a total compensation package.
Please be aware, job-seekers may be at risk of targeting by malicious actors looking for personal data. Brex recruiters will only reach out via LinkedIn or email with a brex.com domain. Any outreach claiming to be from Brex via other sources should be ignored.

Align your portfolio to fintech product problems
Brex engineers work on spend management, corporate cards, and financial APIs. Highlight projects where you owned the product surface, not just the backend logic. Engineers who can speak to user impact alongside technical execution stand out in their hiring process.
Understand how Brex structures H-1B specialty occupation
Product Software Engineer roles at Brex will be classified as specialty occupations requiring a degree in computer science or a closely related field. If your degree is in a different discipline, prepare a credential evaluation and document how your coursework maps to software engineering.
Target Brex roles open before the H-1B registration window
USCIS opens H-1B registration each March. Landing an offer at Brex by February gives your employer time to register, prepare the LCA with DOL, and file Form I-129 before the April 1 filing deadline without relying on premium processing to recover lost time.
Prepare for a multi-stage technical and product interview
Brex evaluates product engineers across system design, coding, and product sense rounds. Come ready to discuss how financial constraints, like regulatory compliance or fraud risk, shaped your past architectural decisions. This signals readiness for the fintech-specific complexity of the role.
Use Migrate Mate to filter open roles by sponsorship type
Not every open Product Software Engineer listing at Brex specifies which visa categories the team will support for that headcount. Use Migrate Mate to filter current Brex openings by the visa type you need, so you apply only to roles where your sponsorship path is confirmed.

Find Product Software Engineer at Brex JobsFrequently Asked Questions
Does Brex sponsor H-1B visas for Product Software Engineers?
Yes, Brex sponsors H-1B visas for Product Software Engineer roles. The process involves your employer filing a Labor Condition Application with the DOL and then submitting Form I-129 to USCIS after H-1B selection. If you're currently on F-1 OPT, Brex can also support the transition from OPT to H-1B status, including the cap-gap period if your OPT expires before October 1.
How do I apply for Product Software Engineer jobs at Brex?
Applications go through Brex's careers page, where product engineering roles are listed by team and product area. Before applying, review whether the specific role includes a sponsorship note or reach out to a recruiter to confirm. Migrate Mate also lists Brex's open Product Software Engineer positions filtered by visa sponsorship type, which helps you prioritize roles aligned with your immigration status.
Which visa types does Brex commonly use for Product Software Engineers?
Brex supports H-1B and F-1 OPT/CPT for product engineering hires, along with TN visas for Canadian and Mexican nationals in qualifying roles. For longer-term paths, Brex also sponsors EB-2 and EB-3 Green Card petitions. The right category depends on your nationality, degree, and where you are in your career, so confirm the available pathways for a specific role before accepting an offer.
What qualifications does Brex expect for Product Software Engineer roles?
Brex typically looks for engineers who can own a product surface end to end, combining strong backend or full-stack engineering skills with product thinking. A bachelor's degree or higher in computer science or a related field is standard for H-1B specialty occupation classification. Experience with distributed systems, payments infrastructure, or financial products is a practical advantage given the nature of Brex's core platform.
How long does the visa sponsorship process take after an offer from Brex?
If you're being sponsored for an H-1B and are already in the U.S. on OPT, the cap registration happens in March and employment begins October 1 at the earliest. USCIS standard processing for Form I-129 runs three to five months, though premium processing reduces that to roughly two weeks. For PERM-based Green Card sponsorship, the full EB-2 or EB-3 process typically runs one to two years before an immigrant visa becomes available.
