Verify Your Credentials Meet Washington State Requirements
Washington requires PA licensure through the Medical Quality Assurance Commission before you can practice. Confirm your NCCPA certification, graduate transcripts, and supervised clinical hours are ready to submit well before your offer stage.
Target MultiCare's Specialty Clinic Openings Strategically
MultiCare fills PA roles across urgent care, orthopedics, oncology, and primary care. Roles in high-demand specialties like oncology and surgical subspecialties tend to move faster through sponsorship approvals because workforce shortages give employers stronger LCA justification with DOL.
Ask Recruiters Directly About Their Immigration Counsel Process
MultiCare works with external immigration attorneys on sponsored hires. During early recruiter conversations, ask whether the organization initiates H-1B sponsorship at offer or after a credentialing period ends. This timing affects your start date and OPT cap-gap planning.
Align Your OPT or Grace Period Timeline with Credentialing
PA credentialing at large health systems typically takes 60 to 90 days after an offer is signed. If you're on F-1 OPT, factor this into your 60-day grace period calculation so your work authorization remains valid when your first clinical shift begins.
Use Migrate Mate to Filter Open PA Roles That Confirm Sponsorship
Search and filter Physician Assistant openings at MultiCare Health System by visa type on Migrate Mate to identify which specific roles have confirmed sponsorship history, so you apply where your authorization profile already fits.
Prepare for PERM Before Your H-1B Extension Window
If MultiCare sponsors your H-1B and you want a Green Card path, PERM labor certification with DOL can take 12 to 24 months. Raise permanent residency interest with HR before your second H-1B extension to avoid gaps in your long-term status planning.
Frequently Asked Questions
Does MultiCare Health System sponsor H-1B visas for Physician Assistants?
Yes, MultiCare Health System sponsors H-1B visas for Physician Assistant roles. PA positions qualify as specialty occupations under USCIS standards because the role requires at minimum a master's degree or equivalent in physician assistant studies. Sponsorship decisions are made on a per-hire basis, so you should confirm the specific opening supports sponsorship during the recruiter screening call.
How do I apply for Physician Assistant jobs at MultiCare Health System?
You can browse and apply for Physician Assistant openings at MultiCare Health System directly through Migrate Mate, which surfaces roles with confirmed sponsorship history. After applying, MultiCare's clinical recruitment team typically screens candidates on licensure status, specialty experience, and work authorization before scheduling interviews with department hiring managers.
Which visa types does MultiCare Health System commonly use for Physician Assistant hires?
MultiCare sponsors H-1B visas most commonly for PA roles, given the specialty occupation classification. TN visas are available to Canadian and Mexican citizens whose PA credentials meet USMCA standards. J-1 visa and F-1 OPT are also supported for qualifying candidates, and MultiCare has pursued EB-2 and EB-3 Green Card sponsorship for long-term clinical staff.
What qualifications does MultiCare Health System expect from Physician Assistant candidates?
MultiCare expects candidates to hold a master's degree from an ARC-PA accredited program and current NCCPA certification. Active or pending Washington State PA licensure is required before a start date. Specialty experience in areas like oncology, orthopedics, or urgent care strengthens your candidacy, and most postings require at least one to two years of supervised clinical practice post-graduation.
How long does the visa sponsorship process take when joining MultiCare Health System as a Physician Assistant?
For H-1B sponsorship, plan for the Labor Condition Application with DOL to take seven to ten business days, followed by USCIS petition processing. Standard processing runs three to six months; premium processing through USCIS reduces adjudication to 15 business days. Add 60 to 90 days for MultiCare's internal credentialing process, which runs concurrently and must complete before your first clinical shift.
