Tailor your credentials to healthcare settings
Service Tech roles at MyMichigan Health often require familiarity with biomedical equipment, HVAC systems, or facilities infrastructure in regulated environments. Certifications like CBET or EPA 608 signal directly relevant technical competency to a healthcare hiring team.
Target open requisitions by facility location
MyMichigan Health operates across multiple campuses in mid-Michigan. Filtering by specific facility rather than applying broadly increases your visibility to the hiring manager who actually controls the role and the sponsorship decision.
Confirm OPT authorization covers your start date
If you're relying on F-1 OPT, verify your Employment Authorization Document is valid before your proposed start date. USCIS recommends filing at least 90 days in advance, so plan your application timeline around MyMichigan Health's typical onboarding cycle.
Use Migrate Mate to find active Service Tech openings
Service Tech positions at MyMichigan Health turn over regularly. Use Migrate Mate to filter for open roles specifically flagged for visa sponsorship so you're applying to positions where sponsorship is already on the table, not negotiating it from scratch.
Understand TN eligibility for technical roles
Canadian and Mexican nationals should verify their specific Service Tech role qualifies under a recognized TN category before accepting an offer. Not all technical positions map cleanly to DOL-defined TN occupations, and misclassification causes delays at the port of entry.

Find Service Tech at MyMichigan Health JobsFrequently Asked Questions
Does MyMichigan Health sponsor H-1B visas for Service Techs?
Yes, MyMichigan Health has a history of sponsoring H-1B visas for technical roles including Service Tech positions. Healthcare systems in Michigan routinely file H-1B petitions to fill specialized technical gaps. Your best path is to engage HR directly once you reach the offer stage to confirm the sponsorship process and expected petition timeline for your specific role.
How do I apply for Service Tech jobs at MyMichigan Health?
Applications go through MyMichigan Health's careers portal. Search by job category or facility location to find active Service Tech requisitions. Migrate Mate also aggregates open Service Tech roles at MyMichigan Health and filters for positions where visa sponsorship is available, which saves time if you're specifically targeting sponsored openings.
Which visa types does MyMichigan Health commonly use for Service Tech roles?
MyMichigan Health sponsors H-1B visas for qualifying technical positions and accepts candidates on F-1 OPT and F-1 CPT for entry-level or training-track roles. TN status is also supported for eligible Canadian and Mexican nationals whose occupation maps to a recognized TN classification. The right visa type depends on your nationality, degree field, and the specific role's requirements.
What qualifications does MyMichigan Health expect for Service Tech positions?
Most Service Tech roles at MyMichigan Health require a technical associate degree or vocational certification in a relevant field such as biomedical technology, electrical systems, or HVAC. Hands-on experience in a regulated environment, particularly healthcare or industrial settings, strengthens your application. Some roles require specific licensure, so reviewing each job description carefully before applying is essential.
How long does the visa sponsorship process take at MyMichigan Health?
For H-1B petitions, MyMichigan Health follows the standard USCIS annual cap cycle with a filing window that opens each April for an October 1 start date. If you're on OPT bridging to H-1B, your cap-gap protection covers you through September 30 if your petition is timely filed. TN and CPT authorizations move faster and don't follow the cap cycle, so timelines vary significantly by visa type.
