Hotel Jobs in Vermont: Frequently Asked Questions
How do you become a hotel worker in Vermont?
Most hotel positions in Vermont do not require a state-issued license, but food service roles require a Vermont Food Handler certificate and bartending or serving roles benefit from TIPS or ServSafe alcohol training recognized in Vermont. Entry-level positions typically require a high school diploma, while management roles increasingly favor an associate or bachelor's degree in hospitality management from institutions like Champlain College in Burlington, which offers relevant programs.
Which companies hire hotels in Vermont?
Employers hiring hotels in Vermont right now include Towne Park, Encore Global, and The Mountain Inn, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of July 2026. Vermont's hotel hiring is particularly active among resort operators and independent boutique properties that scale up staffing around ski season and summer tourism peaks.
Which Vermont cities have the most hotel jobs?
The cities with the most hotel openings in Vermont are Burlington, Winooski, and Williston. Burlington drives volume as Vermont's largest city and a year-round business and tourism hub, while Stowe and Killington generate strong seasonal demand tied to ski resorts and mountain resort properties that maintain large year-round operations.
Are there remote hotel jobs in Vermont?
Yes, but they're rare. Hotel work is inherently on-site, with most roles requiring direct interaction with guests, facilities, or staff. About 0% of hotel openings tied to Vermont are remote or hybrid as of July 2026, and those positions tend to be in back-office functions such as revenue management, reservations coordination, or hotel group sales that can be handled off-property.
How can I get hired as a hotel worker in Vermont with little or no experience?
The most realistic entry path is applying directly to front desk agent, housekeeping, or banquet server roles, which Vermont resort employers like Stowe Mountain Lodge and Killington Resort hire for regularly without requiring prior hotel experience. Champlain College and Vermont Technical College both offer hospitality programs with employer connections, and completing a ServSafe or TIPS certification before applying gives candidates a concrete edge for any role touching food, beverage, or guest safety.
Where can I find and apply to hotel jobs in Vermont?
You can find and apply to hotel jobs in Vermont on Migrate Mate, which lists current Vermont openings across the state's resort towns, urban centers, and independent properties. Find roles that fit your experience and location and apply directly from the listing.
