DESCRIPTION
Are you passionate about shaping the future of how people experience work across vastly different employee populations? We're looking for a Principal HR Business Partner to serve as a strategic advisor to senior leaders across World Wide Grocery Supply Chain and Tech (WWGST) —the team building world-class technology solutions for our Grocery Stores business.
What makes this role truly unique is the breadth of your impact: you'll support Tech, Corporate, and/or Field employees, navigating the distinct needs of software engineers, business professionals, and frontline associates—all within a single organization. If you thrive at the intersection of complexity and scale, think big, and want to build people strategies that work across diverse workforce segments, we'd love to hear from you.
Key job responsibilities
- Partner with multiple Director-level leaders as a trusted strategic advisor, supporting a uniquely diverse workforce spanning Tech, Corporate, and Field employees
- Design and execute people strategies tailored to the distinct needs of software engineers, business professionals, and frontline associates—all within one organization
- Provide data-driven insights on organizational health, engagement, and retention across all three employee populations to inform leadership decisions
- Coach and counsel senior leaders on performance management, employee relations, and team effectiveness across varied work environments
- Drive HR functional excellence by collaborating with COEs (Compensation, Talent Management, Talent Acquisition, L&D) to deliver scalable solutions that work for diverse workforce segments
- Champion a culture of inclusion, innovation, and customer obsession that bridges tech, corporate, and field teams
- Lead change management efforts that account for the unique challenges of supporting employees who build technology, run the business, and serve customers
A day in the life
Your morning might start with workforce planning session for a tech team scaling to support new strategies. By midday, you're advising a Director on an org design challenge within a corporate function. In the afternoon, you might be partnering with Distribution Centre leaders to address engagement and retention for our team members.
Few HRBP roles offer this range—you'll flex between the needs of software engineers, corporate professionals, and field employees, all in a single week. You'll balance strategic, long-range planning with real-time problem solving, operating with significant autonomy in a fast-paced environment where no two days look the same.
About the team
This team is the HR engine behind one of Amazon's most dynamic and complex businesses. We support the technology and supply chain organization that is redefining how customers shop for groceries through cutting-edge innovation, including AI-powered solutions that are transforming everything from supply chain logistics to the in-store customer experience.
What sets our team apart is the extraordinary breadth of the workforce we serve. Unlike most PXT teams that support a single employee type, we partner across three distinct populations: Tech employees who are building the next generation of AI and machine learning platforms, Corporate professionals who translate innovation into business strategy, and Field employees who bring the customer experience to life in stores every day—increasingly supported by AI-driven tools and automation.
As AI reshapes how work gets done across all three populations, our PXT team is at the forefront of navigating what that means for our people—rethinking roles, skills, and career paths in an era of rapid technological change.
We value bold thinking, intellectual curiosity, and a genuine passion for helping employees thrive—If you want to shape the future of work at the intersection of people and technology, this is the team for you.

HR Business Partner Jobs in Texas: Frequently Asked Questions
How do you become a hr business partner in Texas?
Most hr business partner roles in Texas require a bachelor's degree in human resources or business, followed by several years in an HR generalist or coordinator role before moving into a dedicated partner position. Texas has no state licensing board for HR professionals, but earning the PHR or SPHR credential from HRCI or the SHRM-CP or SHRM-SCP from the Society for Human Resource Management significantly strengthens your candidacy with major Texas employers.
How much do HR business partners make in Texas?
HR business partners in Texas earn a median of about $136,500 a year, based on May 2025 Bureau of Labor Statistics wage data, ranging from around $83,200 for the lowest 10% to over $226,050 for the top 10%. Pay rises with experience, specialty, and employer.
Which companies hire hr business partners in Texas?
Employers hiring hr business partners in Texas right now include Mercer, USI Insurance Services, and Burns & McDonnell, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of June 2026. Texas's concentration of energy, technology, and financial services headquarters means a large share of openings sit within complex, multi-site organizations that rely heavily on dedicated HR business partners embedded in their business units.
Which Texas cities have the most hr business partner jobs?
Dallas, Houston, and Austin have the most hr business partner openings in Texas. Dallas-Fort Worth leads because of its density of corporate headquarters across finance, telecom, and healthcare, Houston draws heavily from the energy and petrochemical sector, and Austin's growth in technology and semiconductor manufacturing has steadily increased demand for strategic HR partners embedded within fast-scaling business units.
Are there remote hr business partner jobs in Texas?
Yes, and more than many HR roles, since hr business partner work is largely consultative and desk-based. About 20% of hr business partner openings tied to Texas are remote or hybrid as of June 2026, reflecting how broadly companies have accepted distributed HR partnership models. Responsibilities focused on policy advising, workforce planning, and data analysis tend to be the most remote-compatible, while employee relations investigations and onsite people management often require a physical presence.
How can I get hired as a hr business partner in Texas with little or no experience?
The most realistic entry path is starting in an HR coordinator or HR generalist role at a large Texas employer and moving into a business partner track once you have direct employee relations and client-group experience. Large Texas healthcare systems and retailers often hire new graduates into rotational HR development programs that feed into business partner pipelines. Building your SHRM-CP credential early and seeking out stretch assignments in workforce planning or talent management gives you a clear edge in a competitive market.
Where can I find and apply to hr business partner jobs in Texas?
You can find and apply to hr business partner jobs in Texas on Migrate Mate, which lists current Texas openings across Dallas-Fort Worth, Houston, Austin, and other metro areas. Find a role that fits and apply directly from the listing.
