Inside Sales Manager Jobs in Kansas: Frequently Asked Questions
How do you become a inside sales manager in Kansas?
Most inside sales managers in Kansas reach the role by first building several years of experience as an individual contributor in inside sales, then moving into a team lead or senior rep position before stepping into management. Kansas does not require a state-issued license to work as an inside sales manager. Employers in the state typically look for a bachelor's degree in business or marketing alongside a demonstrated record of meeting sales targets in industries like manufacturing, agriculture technology, or financial services.
How much do inside sales managers make in Kansas?
Inside sales managers in Kansas earn a median of about $74,220 a year, based on May 2025 Bureau of Labor Statistics wage data, ranging from around $47,200 for the lowest 10% to over $131,490 for the top 10%. Pay rises with experience, specialty, and employer.
Which companies hire inside sales managers in Kansas?
Companies currently hiring inside sales managers in Kansas include Lockton, QXO, and Evapco, per current listings on Migrate Mate as of July 2026. Kansas's mix of aerospace manufacturing in Wichita, technology companies in Overland Park, and agribusiness operations statewide means inside sales management roles appear across a wider range of industries than in many comparable Midwest states.
Which Kansas cities have the most inside sales manager jobs?
Overland Park, Lenexa, and Kansas City consistently post the most inside sales manager openings in Kansas. Wichita drives volume through its aerospace and manufacturing base, while the Kansas side of the Kansas City metro, including Overland Park and Lenexa, attracts technology, financial services, and logistics employers that rely heavily on structured inside sales teams.
Are there remote inside sales manager jobs in Kansas?
Yes, and more than most fields, since inside sales management is inherently desk-based and well-suited to distributed teams. About 15% of inside sales manager openings tied to Kansas are remote or hybrid as of July 2026, reflecting broad employer comfort with managing sales teams virtually. The parts of the role most commonly performed remotely include pipeline review, one-on-one coaching calls, and CRM reporting, while in-person presence is more likely required for onboarding new reps or attending company sales kickoffs.
How can I get hired as a inside sales manager in Kansas with little or no experience?
The most realistic entry path is moving into a senior inside sales representative or team lead role first, then applying for management positions internally once you have demonstrated results. Large Kansas employers in Overland Park's technology corridor and Wichita's manufacturing sector regularly promote high-performing reps into first-line management. Gaining proficiency in Salesforce, completing a sales methodology certification, or taking on a mentoring or training role within your current team signals readiness to employers who may not post formal management development programs.
