Insurance Account Manager Jobs in Florida: Frequently Asked Questions
How do you become a insurance account manager in Florida?
The most direct path is earning a Florida 2-20 General Lines Agent license or a 4-40 Customer Representative license, both issued by the Florida Department of Financial Services. Candidates must complete state-approved pre-licensing education, pass the relevant exam, and submit an application through the department. Most employers also expect at least an associate degree in business, finance, or a related field, and many prefer candidates who have worked in a customer service or insurance support role first.
How much do insurance account managers make in Florida?
Insurance account managers in Florida earn a median of about $59,790 a year, based on May 2025 Bureau of Labor Statistics wage data, ranging from around $37,180 for the lowest 10% to over $124,830 for the top 10%. Pay rises with experience, specialty, and employer.
Which companies hire insurance account managers in Florida?
Employers hiring insurance account managers in Florida right now include State Farm, DTRT Insurance, and navsav, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of August 2026. Florida's concentration of property and casualty carriers, regional independent agencies, and national brokerages creates consistent year-round demand across the state.
Which Florida cities have the most insurance account manager jobs?
Tampa, Stuart, and Fort Lauderdale have the most insurance account manager openings in Florida. Miami's dense commercial corridor and high-value residential market drive strong demand there, while Tampa is home to major carrier offices and national brokerage hubs, and Jacksonville anchors a growing financial services and insurance sector that pulls consistent hiring from both independent agencies and direct writers.
Are there remote insurance account manager jobs in Florida?
Yes, and more than many client-facing roles, since much of the work involves email, phone, and agency management software rather than in-person visits. About 31% of insurance account manager openings tied to Florida are remote or hybrid as of August 2026, reflecting the desk-based nature of policy servicing and renewals. Account managers handling personal lines and small commercial accounts tend to find the most remote-eligible postings.
How can I get hired as a insurance account manager in Florida with little or no experience?
The most realistic entry point is obtaining your Florida 4-40 Customer Representative license and applying for account assistant or client services coordinator roles at independent agencies or regional carriers such as Brightway Insurance or AssuredPartners. These positions handle policy changes, certificates of insurance, and renewal support, and many Florida agencies promote from within once you demonstrate accuracy and client communication skills. Completing pre-licensing coursework through Florida Department of Financial Services-approved providers before applying signals commitment and speeds the hiring process.
Where can I find and apply to insurance account manager jobs in Florida?
