Marketing Director Jobs in Colorado: Frequently Asked Questions
How do you become a marketing director in Colorado?
Marketing director roles in Colorado do not require a state-issued license or registration, so the path runs through education and experience. Most employers expect a bachelor's degree in marketing, communications, or business as a foundation. From there, candidates typically advance through roles like marketing manager or senior marketing manager, building a portfolio of campaign results and team leadership. Colorado employers in technology and healthcare particularly value demonstrated experience with digital channels and measurable growth.
How much do marketing directors make in Colorado?
Marketing directors in Colorado earn a median of about $182,730 a year, based on May 2025 Bureau of Labor Statistics wage data, ranging from around $121,560 for the lowest 10% to over $289,870 for the top 10%. Pay rises with experience, specialty, and employer.
Which companies hire marketing directors in Colorado?
Companies currently hiring marketing directors in Colorado include Ivy Living, Century Communities, and Vail Resorts, per current listings on Migrate Mate as of September 2026. Colorado's mix of technology firms along the Front Range, national consumer brands headquartered in Denver, and large healthcare systems creates steady director-level demand across multiple sectors.
Which Colorado cities have the most marketing director jobs?
Denver, Boulder, and Littleton have the most marketing director openings in Colorado. Denver drives the largest share of listings as the headquarters hub for technology, energy, and financial services companies, while Boulder's dense concentration of software and consumer-brand employers sustains strong demand, and Colorado Springs draws openings from defense contractors and regional healthcare systems.
Are there remote marketing director jobs in Colorado?
Yes, and more than most fields. About 63% of marketing director openings tied to Colorado are remote or hybrid as of September 2026, reflecting the largely desk-based and strategic nature of the role. Brand strategy, content leadership, and digital marketing functions tend to be the most remote-compatible, while roles tied to events, agency-of-record relationships, or on-site creative teams more commonly require in-office presence.
How can I get hired as a marketing director in Colorado with little or no experience?
The most realistic entry path is building director-level responsibility incrementally through a marketing manager role at a Colorado employer. Technology companies along Denver's tech corridor and Boulder's startup ecosystem frequently promote internally, making a strong portfolio of campaign results and measurable growth the primary credential. Adjacent roles in product marketing, content strategy, or marketing operations at Colorado employers like regional health systems or outdoor consumer brands are common stepping stones, and earning a Google Analytics or HubSpot certification can strengthen an application at the director level.
Where can I find and apply to marketing director jobs in Colorado?
You can find and apply to marketing director jobs in Colorado on Migrate Mate, which lists current Colorado openings updated regularly. Search the listings to find roles that match your experience, seniority level, and preferred location or remote arrangement, then apply directly to the ones that fit.
