New Business Development Jobs in Texas: Frequently Asked Questions
How do you become a new business development in Texas?
Most new business development roles in Texas require a bachelor's degree in business administration, marketing, or a related field, though no state-issued license is required for the role itself. Texas employers typically look for candidates who can demonstrate sales fundamentals, industry knowledge, and CRM proficiency. Many professionals enter through inside sales, account management, or marketing coordinator roles before moving into dedicated new business development positions at Texas-based companies.
Which companies hire new business developments in Texas?
Employers hiring new business developments in Texas right now include New York Life, Molex, and Tektronix, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of June 2026. Texas's concentration of Fortune 500 headquarters, energy companies, and fast-growing technology firms means demand for new business development talent is distributed across both established corporations and high-growth startups.
Which Texas cities have the most new business development jobs?
Austin, Dallas, and Irving have the most new business development openings in Texas. Dallas and Houston drive the bulk of demand through their large corporate headquarters, financial services firms, and energy sector operations, while Austin's booming technology and SaaS ecosystem fuels strong growth for new business development roles targeting enterprise and mid-market accounts.
Are there remote new business development jobs in Texas?
Yes, and more than most fields. About 8% of new business development openings tied to Texas are remote or hybrid as of June 2026, reflecting how much of the role centers on phone, video, and digital outreach rather than in-person activity. Roles focused on outbound prospecting, pipeline management, and virtual demos are the most consistently offered as remote or hybrid positions.
How can I get hired as a new business development in Texas with little or no experience?
The most realistic entry path is through an inside sales representative or sales development representative role, where Texas employers such as Dell Technologies, Oracle, and mid-sized Austin SaaS companies run structured new-hire programs that build foundational prospecting and pipeline skills. Lateral moves from customer success, account coordination, or marketing roles are also common stepping stones. Earning a recognized sales certification and building a clear record of outreach activity or quota attainment in any role gives candidates a meaningful edge with Texas hiring managers.
Where can I find and apply to new business development jobs in Texas?
You can find and apply to new business development jobs in Texas on Migrate Mate, which lists current Texas openings updated regularly. Search the listings for roles that match your experience level, preferred city, and target industry, then apply directly to the ones that fit.
