Operations Specialist Jobs in Minnesota: Frequently Asked Questions
How do you become a operations specialist in Minnesota?
Most operations specialist roles in Minnesota require a bachelor's degree in business, supply chain, or a related field, though some employers accept equivalent work experience. Minnesota does not issue a state license for this role, so hiring decisions center on demonstrated process management skills and relevant industry knowledge. Candidates in healthcare operations often strengthen their profile with certifications such as the Certified Healthcare Administrative Professional credential, while those in supply chain pursue APICS certifications recognized by Minnesota employers.
Which companies hire operations specialists in Minnesota?
Companies currently hiring operations specialists in Minnesota include H&R Block, CHS, and RBC, per current listings on Migrate Mate as of August 2026. Minnesota's concentration of Fortune 500 headquarters in the Twin Cities means a steady pipeline of openings across corporate operations, shared services, and vendor management functions.
Which Minnesota cities have the most operations specialist jobs?
The cities with the most operations specialist openings in Minnesota are Minneapolis, Saint Paul, and Bloomington. The Twin Cities account for the largest share because of the region's dense cluster of corporate headquarters, major healthcare systems, and distribution infrastructure, while Rochester's openings are driven largely by Mayo Clinic's extensive administrative and operational staffing needs.
Are there remote operations specialist jobs in Minnesota?
Yes, and they're fairly common for this role. About 31% of operations specialist openings tied to Minnesota are remote or hybrid as of August 2026, reflecting the desk-based, analytical nature of much of the work. Positions focused on data reporting, vendor coordination, and process documentation are the most likely to carry remote or hybrid flexibility.
How can I get hired as a operations specialist in Minnesota with little or no experience?
The most realistic entry path is applying for operations coordinator or administrative analyst roles at large Minnesota employers, which often serve as direct pipelines into specialist positions. Target, UnitedHealth Group, and Optum run structured associate and rotational programs that accept recent graduates with degrees in business or related fields. Earning a foundational APICS or project management certification before applying gives candidates a measurable edge, and lateral moves from customer service or procurement support roles at Minnesota companies are a well-established route in.
Where can I find and apply to operations specialist jobs in Minnesota?
You can find and apply to operations specialist jobs in Minnesota on Migrate Mate, which lists current openings from employers hiring in the state right now. Search the listings to find roles that match your background and apply directly to the ones that fit.
