Position Summary:
Owns the commercial demand signal that feeds sales, inventory and operations planning, and supports profitable growth through commercial analytics, pricing tools and reporting. This seat is where the pipeline stops being a sales artefact and becomes a planning input the factory can act on
Key Responsibilities:
- Demand planning and SIOP input
- Build and maintain the commercial demand signal from Salesforce: pipeline by product family, weighted and unweighted, phased to expected award date.
- Reconcile the CRM pipeline to the SIOP demand plan each cycle and explain variance by market and product line.
- Own the commercial inputs pack for the monthly SIOP meeting; partner with Operations and Supply Chain on capacity implications.
- Flag capacity-relevant opportunities early: large, long-lead or non-standard jobs that need factory visibility before Job Commit.
- Maintain the NPD pipeline view so engineering capacity can be planned against what is coming.
- Baseline and publish forecast accuracy by market, product family and seller; run the error analysis behind it. Commercial analytics and reporting
- Build and maintain dashboards covering revenue, margin, pipeline, bookings and backlog.
- Analyze performance by market, product family and channel; explain movement rather than only reporting it.
- Deliver executive and board reporting on a published schedule.
- Maintain the definitions behind every published metric so numbers reconcile across audiences. Pricing and commercial support
- Perform pricing and margin analysis in support of quotes and proposals.
- Maintain pricing models and the tools sales uses to price work.
- Support delegation of authority approvals: assemble the submission pack and track the approval to a decision.
- Monitor realized margin against quoted margin and surface the variance. Sales tools and commercial resources
- Build and maintain pricing and quoting tools used by the field.
- Maintain proposal templates and the standard bid document set.
- Standardize sales-facing resources so the field works from one current version.
Second Responsibilities
Customer and Market Intelligence
- Customer and segment analysis in support of coverage and account planning.
- Competitive monitoring on product, lead time and pricing posture. Commercial process improvement
Commercial Process Improvements
- Document commercial workflows and keep the documentation current.
- Identify automation opportunities and specify them for the Revenue Systems team.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in business, finance, supply chain, engineering or a related field.
- Four to six years in commercial analytics, sales operations, demand planning or related discipline.
- Advanced Excel and working command of a BI tool such as Power BI.
- Experience working with CRM and ERP data.
- Able to work across Sales, Operations and Supply Chain without a reporting line into any of them.
- Comfortable owning a recurring operating cadence.
Preferred Qualifications
- Manufacturing or industrial experience, particularly engineer-to-order.
- Exposure to SIOP or a formal demand planning cycle.
- Salesforce reporting and dashboard experience.
- Statistical forecasting or demand modelling exposure.
- Continuous improvement or Lean background.
- Experience with a configurator or CPQ platform
