Summary
Performs clinical and administrative functions in support of the design, implementation, and management of clinical research projects. Has direct supervision of Research Specialists in designated specialty.
Responsibilities
- Monitors the quality assurance process.
- Participates in QA/QI initiatives to ensure the department's compliance with applicable standards of care and regulatory requirements.
- Direct supervision of research specialists in designated specialty, including hiring, work product and performance management.
- Participates in the selection, education, testing and monitoring of research project patients.
- Collaborates with other healthcare providers to ensure continuity and efficacy of study protocols and patient care.
- Documents patient/study results using departmental information systems and applications.
- Communicates patient/study results on an ongoing basis to research team.
- Assists with designing and procuring funding for new study protocols.
- Assists with the preparation, submission and management of internal/external compliance documentation at all stages of the research project.

Additional Job Information
Complexity of Work: Requires critical thinking skills, effective communications skills, decisive judgment and the ability to work with minimal supervision. Must be able to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action.
Required Work Experience: Three (3) years nursing and two (2) years of Clinical Research experience. Prior supervisory experience is preferred.
Other Information: Proof of Graduation certificate for foreign trained MDs or equivalent clinical programs or Registered Nurse (RN). Additional Education Info: or Foreign Medical doctor or equivalent relevant degree.
