About Detroit Sub Co.
Detroit Sub Co. is a new carryout-focused, fast-casual sandwich restaurant specializing in freshly prepared grilled chicken and steak subs.
We are NOT a traditional sit-down restaurant with servers or table service. Our operation focuses on counter service, carryout, online orders, and delivery.
We're looking for an experienced, hands-on General Manager who can help us launch the business, develop a strong team, and independently manage daily operations.

Unlike traditional restaurant management positions, this opportunity includes 10% monthly operating profit sharing in addition to a guaranteed $45,000 annual salary.
The more successful and profitable the restaurant becomes, the greater your potential monthly earnings.
For example:
- $5,000 monthly operating profit = $500 bonus
- $10,000 monthly operating profit = $1,000 bonus
- $15,000 monthly operating profit = $1,500 bonus
- $20,000 monthly operating profit = $2,000 bonus
Potential to increase profit sharing from 10% to 15% after the first year, based on performance and business growth.
Profit sharing is paid monthly, based on actual operating profits and the terms of the written bonus plan. Bonuses are not guaranteed.
Responsibilities
- Take ownership of daily operations of our carryout restaurant.
- Help develop, refine, and standardize our chicken and steak recipes.
- Hire, train, schedule, and manage kitchen and counter-service employees.
- Work hands-on in the kitchen when needed, including cooking on the flat-top grill.
- Train dependable shift leaders to oversee operations when you're not present.
- Manage food costs, labor costs, inventory, ordering, and waste.
- Maintain consistent food quality, portion sizes, cleanliness, and customer service.
- Manage carryout, online ordering, and delivery operations.
- Develop strategies to increase sales, repeat customers, and overall profitability.
- Build systems that allow the restaurant to operate efficiently with minimal day-to-day owner involvement.
Qualifications
- Previous restaurant management experience required.
- Experience in fast-casual, quick-service, carryout, sandwich shops, or similar restaurants strongly preferred.
- Strong hands-on cooking and kitchen management skills.
- Experience hiring, training, and leading employees.
- Understanding of food costs, labor percentages, inventory, and restaurant profitability.
- Ability to develop standardized recipes and efficient kitchen procedures.
- Self-motivated, organized, dependable, and comfortable making operational decisions.
