Summary
The RGM Analyst is the analytical engine behind every pricing and promotion decision Tropical Cheese makes. Working directly with the RGM Manager, the Analyst builds the price and promotion scenarios behind each recommendation, measures what happened after the fact, and owns the tools and dashboards the commercial team runs on.
Key Responsibilities
Planning and Business Support
- Support the annual operating plan and budget cycle with pricing, promotion and trade inputs
- Prepare analysis and materials for customer line reviews, joint business planning and internal sales reviews
- Provide ad hoc analysis for Sales and executive leadership
- Other duties as required by the business
Pricing and Promotion Analytics
- Build pricing and promotion scenarios as well as post-event ROI Analysis
- Develop forecasts and scenario models to assess the volume, revenue and margin impact of pricing and promotional changes
- Design and develop analytical frameworks (e.g. elasticity models, segmentation, price waterfalls, scenario planning) to support pricing recommendations
Reporting, Tools and Data
- Track trade spend by customer and event against budget, and support accrual accuracy with Finance
- Run the RGM tool and own the dashboards covering pricing, promotion, trade spend and sales performance
Key Skills & Qualifications
- Advanced Excel proficiency (required) - pivot tables, lookups, Power Query, and models built from scratch rather than inherited
- Power BI or Tableau (required) - you will own the dashboards
- SQL (preferred) - ability to query and join large transactional and syndicated data sets independently
- Python or R (a plus) - statistical modeling for elasticity, forecasting and scenario analysis
- Comfort with syndicated data (Circana, NielsenIQ) and retailer portals (Walmart Scintilla etc.)
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to translate data into clear commercial recommendations
- Understanding of P&L mechanics: gross-to-net, trade spend, margin and ROI
Education and/or Experience
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Economics, Analytics, Statistics or a related field preferred; equivalent practical experience will be considered
- Minimum 1-2 years of experience in an analytical commercial role: revenue growth management, pricing, trade marketing, category management, sales analytics or commercial finance
- CPG or food and beverage experience strongly preferred
