Sales Business Development Jobs in Minnesota: Frequently Asked Questions
How do you become a sales business development in Minnesota?
Most sales business development roles in Minnesota do not require a state-issued license, but a bachelor's degree in business, marketing, or a related field is the standard baseline employers expect. From there, hiring managers look for demonstrated experience building pipelines or closing accounts, often in a B2B context. Candidates who have completed sales development representative roles at Minnesota tech or medtech firms, or who hold a Salesforce certification, tend to move through screening faster.
How much do sales business developments make in Minnesota?
Sales business developments in Minnesota earn a median of about $76,750 a year, based on May 2025 Bureau of Labor Statistics wage data, ranging from around $46,680 for the lowest 10% to over $136,840 for the top 10%. Pay rises with experience, specialty, and employer.
Which companies hire sales business developments in Minnesota?
Employers hiring sales business developments in Minnesota right now include KEB, KONE, and Target, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of September 2026. Minnesota's concentration of Fortune 500 headquarters in sectors like health insurance, medical devices, and enterprise software means demand from large, established companies is a consistent feature of the market rather than a temporary spike.
Which Minnesota cities have the most sales business development jobs?
Minneapolis, Shakopee, and Eagan lead Minnesota for sales business development openings. The Twin Cities dominate because Minneapolis and Saint Paul are home to the headquarters and regional offices of major employers in financial services, health technology, and enterprise SaaS, while Rochester's concentration of medical industry employers and Bloomington's suburban corporate campuses generate steady volume outside the core urban market.
Are there remote sales business development jobs in Minnesota?
Yes, and more than most fields. About 100% of sales business development openings tied to Minnesota are remote or hybrid as of September 2026, reflecting how much of the role centers on digital outreach, virtual demos, and CRM-driven pipeline management. The portions of the work most likely to remain fully on-site involve in-person client meetings or territory coverage in manufacturing and medtech accounts.
How can I get hired as a sales business development in Minnesota with little or no experience?
The most realistic entry path is a sales development representative or inside sales associate role, which large Minnesota employers in health technology and enterprise software routinely post as structured starting points. Companies like Medtronic and UnitedHealth Group run formal rotational or new-hire sales programs that do not require prior closing experience. Building a Salesforce or HubSpot certification, even self-guided, and framing adjacent experience in account management, retail, or customer success gives hiring managers a clear signal of readiness.
Where can I find and apply to sales business development jobs in Minnesota?
You can find and apply to sales business development jobs in Minnesota on Migrate Mate, which lists current openings from employers actively hiring across the state. Search the available roles, identify the ones that match your background and target market, and apply directly to the ones that fit.
