Service & Sales Representative Jobs in Indiana: Frequently Asked Questions
How do you become a service & sales representative in Indiana?
The path depends on the industry, but most Indiana service & sales representative roles require at minimum a high school diploma and, for insurance or financial products, a state-issued producer license through the Indiana Department of Insurance. Candidates sit for the relevant lines-of-authority exam administered by Pearson VUE, then apply through the IDOI for licensure. Outside of licensed product sales, employers typically hire candidates with an associate or bachelor's degree in business or marketing and provide in-house product training.
Which companies hire service & sales representatives in Indiana?
Employers hiring service & sales representatives in Indiana right now include Cintas, Carrier, and Shiel Sexton, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of September 2026. Indiana's deep base of insurance carriers, manufacturing distributors, and healthcare organizations means steady, year-round demand for this role across the state.
Which Indiana cities have the most service & sales representative jobs?
Indianapolis, Angola, and Jasper consistently lead Indiana for service & sales representative openings. Indianapolis drives the bulk of volume as the state capital and home to major insurance, healthcare, and technology employers, while Fort Wayne and Evansville anchor strong regional manufacturing and financial services markets that generate steady territory-based sales demand outside the metro core.
Are there remote service & sales representative jobs in Indiana?
Yes, but they're less common than in purely desk-based roles, since many service & sales representative positions involve in-person client visits or territory coverage. About 0% of service & sales representative openings tied to Indiana are remote or hybrid as of September 2026, reflecting growing flexibility particularly in inside sales and insurance consulting. The roles most likely to be fully remote are inbound account management and benefits sales positions that don't require on-site client presence.
How can I get hired as a service & sales representative in Indiana with little or no experience?
The most realistic entry point is an inside sales associate or customer service representative role at an Indiana insurance carrier or financial services firm, which requires no prior sales experience and typically provides paid licensing support for the Indiana Department of Insurance exam. Large Indiana employers such as Anthem and OneAmerica run structured new-hire training programs that pair associates with senior reps during ramp-up. Candidates who obtain a producer license before applying, even without a sales background, stand out considerably in Indiana's insurance-heavy market.
Where can I find and apply to service & sales representative jobs in Indiana?
