Service & Sales Representative Jobs in New York: Frequently Asked Questions
How do you become a service & sales representative in New York?
Most service & sales representative roles in New York require a high school diploma and can be entered directly through employer hiring programs without a state license. Industries like insurance and securities do require state-specific credentials: selling insurance requires a New York State Department of Financial Services license, and selling securities requires FINRA registration. Outside those regulated areas, employers in telecom, retail, and B2B sales typically hire and train candidates on the job.
Which companies hire service & sales representatives in New York?
Employers hiring service & sales representatives in New York right now include Cintas, CLEAR, and BRAM AUTO, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of September 2026. New York's dense concentration of financial services firms, telecom providers, and consumer brands makes it one of the more active states for ongoing service and sales hiring.
Which New York cities have the most service & sales representative jobs?
Long Island City, Troy, and Alden have the most service & sales representative openings in New York. New York City accounts for the largest share because of its headquarters-dense economy in finance, media, and telecom, while Buffalo and Albany draw consistent hiring from regional insurance carriers, utility companies, and state government contractors with large customer-facing operations.
Are there remote service & sales representative jobs in New York?
Yes, and they are more common than in many other fields. About 20% of service & sales representative openings tied to New York are remote or hybrid as of September 2026, reflecting how much of the role can be handled by phone, video, and digital channels. Inbound customer service, account renewal, and inside sales positions are the most likely to be listed as fully remote.
How can I get hired as a service & sales representative in New York with little or no experience?
The most realistic entry path is through retail or telecom associate roles, where New York employers like Spectrum and Verizon regularly hire candidates with no prior sales background and provide paid training. Customer service associate and call center agent positions at New York-based financial firms and insurers also serve as common stepping stones. Completing a FINRA Series 6 or New York DFS insurance pre-licensing course before applying gives candidates a clear edge.
Where can I find and apply to service & sales representative jobs in New York?
You can find and apply to service & sales representative jobs in New York on Migrate Mate, which lists current openings across the state. Search the available roles, find the ones that fit your background and location, and apply directly to each employer through the listing.
