Strategy Jobs in Minnesota: Frequently Asked Questions
How do you become a strategy professional in Minnesota?
Most strategy roles in Minnesota require a bachelor's degree in business, economics, finance, or a closely related field, with an MBA preferred for senior positions. There is no state-issued license for strategy work in Minnesota. Employers typically expect experience in management consulting, corporate finance, or business analysis. Many professionals enter through analyst programs at large Minnesota-headquartered companies or through consulting firm offices based in the Twin Cities.
Which companies hire strategy professionals in Minnesota?
Minnesota strategy roles are posted by Target, Optum, and CVS Health and others right now, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of September 2026. Minnesota's concentration of Fortune 500 headquarters, particularly in healthcare and retail, drives consistent demand for in-house strategy talent across multiple seniority levels.
Which Minnesota cities have the most strategy jobs?
Minneapolis, Eden Prairie, and Minnesota lead in strategy job openings across Minnesota. Minneapolis anchors the market as home to a dense cluster of corporate headquarters in retail, financial services, and healthcare, while St. Paul and Rochester round out the picture through state government offices and the significant healthcare presence around Mayo Clinic and its affiliated organizations.
Are there remote strategy jobs in Minnesota?
Yes, and more than most fields. Strategy work is largely analytical and collaborative rather than location-dependent, making it well suited to remote and hybrid arrangements. About 91% of strategy openings tied to Minnesota are remote or hybrid as of September 2026, reflecting how widely employers have adopted flexible models for desk-based roles. Project-based and consulting-style strategy positions tend to offer the most location flexibility.
How can I get hired as a strategy professional in Minnesota with little or no experience?
The most realistic entry path is through a rotational business analyst or corporate development associate program, several of which are run by large Minnesota employers in healthcare and retail. Candidates without direct strategy experience often move in from finance, operations, or data analytics roles. Building a portfolio of case analyses or earning an MBA from a Minnesota institution such as the Carlson School of Management strengthens a candidate's case considerably for junior strategy openings.
Where can I find and apply to strategy jobs in Minnesota?
