Which medical devices companies sponsor H-1B visas in Georgia?
Companies with a Georgia presence that have filed H-1B petitions in medical devices include Stryker, Medtronic, Philips Healthcare, BD (Becton Dickinson), and Boston Scientific. Larger multinationals with Atlanta-area offices or distribution and R&D facilities are the most consistent sponsors, as they have dedicated immigration teams and established HR processes for managing H-1B filings.
Which cities in Georgia have the most medical devices H-1B sponsorship jobs?
Atlanta and its northern suburbs, including Alpharetta, Sandy Springs, and Duluth, account for the largest share of medical devices H-1B sponsorship jobs in Georgia. These areas host corporate offices, R&D centers, and sales operations for major device companies. Augusta and Savannah have a smaller but growing presence tied to regional hospital systems and manufacturing facilities.
What types of medical devices roles typically qualify for H-1B sponsorship?
Roles that typically qualify are those requiring at least a bachelor's degree in a specific technical or scientific field. In medical devices, this includes regulatory affairs specialists, quality engineers, biomedical engineers, systems engineers, clinical applications specialists, and software developers working on device platforms. General sales or administrative roles without a specific degree requirement are less likely to meet the H-1B specialty occupation standard.
How do I find medical devices H-1B sponsorship jobs in Georgia?
Migrate Mate filters job listings specifically by visa type and industry, making it straightforward to browse medical devices roles in Georgia where employers have indicated H-1B sponsorship. Rather than sorting through general job boards and guessing at sponsorship willingness, Migrate Mate surfaces positions from companies with an active H-1B filing history in the medical devices sector across Georgia.
Are there any Georgia-specific considerations for H-1B sponsorship in medical devices?
Georgia does not impose state-level restrictions on H-1B employment, but the medical devices industry here is closely tied to FDA-regulated manufacturing and clinical environments. Roles at facilities subject to FDA oversight may require additional documentation of qualifications. Georgia's relatively low cost of living compared to coastal tech hubs can affect prevailing wage determinations, which employers must meet when filing the required Labor Condition Application with the Department of Labor.
What is the prevailing wage for H-1B medical devices jobs in Georgia?
U.S. employers sponsoring a visa must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is what workers in the same role, area, and experience level typically earn. The Department of Labor sets this rate to make sure companies aren't hiring foreign workers simply because they'd accept lower pay than a U.S. worker. It varies by job title, location, and experience. You can look up current prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the OFLC Wage Search page.
