Which insurance companies in Indiana sponsor E-3 visas?
Indianapolis-based carriers OneAmerica and Anthem are among the larger insurers with a history of sponsoring specialty occupation visas. Nationally operating firms with Indiana offices, including Nationwide, Chubb, and Travelers, also file Labor Condition Applications for professional roles. E-3 visa sponsorship is most common in companies with dedicated HR teams experienced in employment-based visa processes, typically larger carriers and reinsurers rather than small independent agencies.
Which Indiana cities have the most insurance E-3 sponsorship jobs?
Indianapolis concentrates the majority of Indiana's insurance employment, hosting corporate headquarters, regional offices, and specialty underwriting operations. Fort Wayne has a meaningful insurance presence through regional carriers and financial services firms. South Bend and Bloomington offer additional opportunities, particularly with insurers connected to university and healthcare sectors. Indianapolis remains the primary market for actuarial, data analytics, and senior underwriting roles most likely to qualify as E-3 specialty occupations.
What types of insurance roles typically qualify for E-3 sponsorship in Indiana?
Roles that require a bachelor's degree or higher in a directly related field are the threshold for E-3 specialty occupation status. In insurance, qualifying positions commonly include actuarial analyst, underwriter, risk analyst, financial examiner, data scientist, and compliance officer. General claims handling or customer service roles typically do not meet the specialty occupation standard. Employers confirm the degree requirement through the Labor Condition Application filed with the DOL before the visa application proceeds.
How do I find insurance E-3 sponsorship jobs in Indiana?
Migrate Mate is built specifically for Australian professionals seeking E-3 sponsorship and surfaces employers with verified LCA filing history in the insurance sector. Filtering by Indiana and insurance on Migrate Mate lets you identify which companies have actively sponsored E-3 or related specialty occupation visas, narrowing your search to employers already familiar with the process. You can also review OFLC Wage Search to confirm prevailing wage levels for specific insurance roles and counties across Indiana.
Are there Indiana-specific considerations for E-3 sponsorship in insurance?
Indiana is not a compact state for insurance licensing, so employers sponsoring an E-3 worker in a licensed role, such as an adjuster or agent, will need to account for Indiana-specific licensing requirements alongside the visa process. The state's strong life insurance and annuities sector, anchored by firms like OneAmerica, means actuarial and product development roles appear regularly. Indiana does not impose additional state-level immigration filing requirements beyond standard federal E-3 procedures administered through USCIS and the DOL.
What is the prevailing wage for E-3 insurance jobs in Indiana?
U.S. employers sponsoring a visa must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is what workers in the same role, area, and experience level typically earn. The Department of Labor sets this rate to make sure companies aren't hiring foreign workers simply because they'd accept lower pay than a U.S. worker. It varies by job title, location, and experience. You can look up current prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the OFLC Wage Search page.
