Which companies in Massachusetts commonly sponsor H-1B visas for human resources roles?
Large employers in Massachusetts with a documented history of H-1B sponsorship in human resources include Mass General Brigham, Harvard University, MIT, Fidelity Investments, Liberty Mutual, and Raytheon Technologies. Healthcare systems, higher education institutions, and financial services firms in the state tend to have dedicated HR teams large enough to support international hiring and LCA filings.
Which cities in Massachusetts have the most human resources H-1B sponsorship jobs?
Boston is the primary hub, hosting the headquarters or major offices of the state's largest H-1B-sponsoring employers across healthcare, finance, and technology. Cambridge is a secondary concentration, driven by MIT, Harvard, and a dense cluster of biotech firms. Worcester and Springfield see additional volume through regional hospital networks and insurance companies, though at lower frequency than Greater Boston.
What types of human resources roles typically qualify for H-1B sponsorship in Massachusetts?
H-1B sponsorship in human resources generally applies to specialty occupations requiring at least a bachelor's degree in a directly related field. In Massachusetts, roles that commonly meet this standard include HR business partner, compensation analyst, talent acquisition specialist, workforce analytics manager, organizational development consultant, and benefits program manager. Generalist or administrative HR roles without a degree requirement are less likely to qualify under USCIS specialty occupation standards.
How do I find human resources H-1B sponsorship jobs in Massachusetts?
Migrate Mate filters human resources job listings in Massachusetts specifically by verified H-1B sponsorship history, so you can focus on employers who have filed Labor Condition Applications for HR roles rather than applying broadly and asking about sponsorship later. You can search by HR specialty, location within Massachusetts, and employer type to narrow results to the most relevant opportunities for your background.
Are there any Massachusetts-specific considerations for H-1B sponsorship in human resources?
Massachusetts employers filing H-1B petitions for HR roles must meet DOL prevailing wage requirements, which in Greater Boston are often higher than national benchmarks due to the local cost of labor. Employers can use the OFLC Wage Search to determine the applicable wage level for a specific HR occupation and location. The state's large higher education and hospital sectors are cap-exempt H-1B employers, meaning they can file outside the annual lottery, which affects both timing and availability of positions.
What is the prevailing wage for H-1B human resources jobs in Massachusetts?
U.S. employers sponsoring a visa must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is what workers in the same role, area, and experience level typically earn. The Department of Labor sets this rate to make sure companies aren't hiring foreign workers simply because they'd accept lower pay than a U.S. worker. It varies by job title, location, and experience. You can look up current prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the OFLC Wage Search page.
