Which agriculture companies sponsor H-1B visas in North Carolina?
North Carolina's largest H-1B visa agriculture sponsors include Bayer Crop Science and Syngenta, both with significant research and development facilities in the Research Triangle Park area. BASF Agricultural Solutions and Corteva Agriscience also have a presence in the state. These companies regularly file Labor Condition Applications for roles in plant biology, crop protection chemistry, and agricultural data science.
Which cities in North Carolina have the most agriculture H-1B sponsorship jobs?
The Research Triangle Park area, covering Raleigh, Durham, and the surrounding counties, is the primary hub for agriculture H-1B sponsorship in North Carolina. This concentration reflects the region's density of crop science and agri-biotech companies. Cary and Morrisville also see activity due to their proximity to major corporate campuses. Rural eastern North Carolina has agricultural activity but far fewer H-1B sponsoring employers.
What types of agriculture roles typically qualify for H-1B sponsorship?
H-1B sponsorship in agriculture generally applies to specialty occupation roles requiring at least a bachelor's degree in a specific field. Common qualifying positions include plant scientists, crop research agronomists, agricultural biotechnologists, bioinformatics analysts, and regulatory affairs specialists. Field labor, general farm management, and positions where any bachelor's degree satisfies the requirement typically do not meet the specialty occupation standard and would not qualify.
How do I find agriculture H-1B sponsorship jobs in North Carolina?
Migrate Mate is built specifically for international job seekers and filters agriculture H-1B sponsorship jobs in North Carolina by visa type, so you can browse verified roles without sifting through listings that don't offer sponsorship. Searching by the agriculture category on Migrate Mate surfaces positions from employers who have a documented history of filing H-1B petitions, which is a meaningful signal when evaluating where to apply.
Are there any state-specific considerations for H-1B sponsorship in North Carolina agriculture?
North Carolina's agriculture sector is heavily split between commodity farming in the east and high-tech crop science in the Research Triangle. H-1B sponsorship is almost exclusively concentrated in the latter. Employers in the Research Triangle area are generally experienced with H-1B filings, which can make the process more straightforward than working with smaller or first-time sponsors. North Carolina does not impose additional state-level requirements on top of the federal H-1B process.
What is the prevailing wage for H-1B agriculture jobs in North Carolina?
U.S. employers sponsoring a visa must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is what workers in the same role, area, and experience level typically earn. The Department of Labor sets this rate to make sure companies aren't hiring foreign workers simply because they'd accept lower pay than a U.S. worker. It varies by job title, location, and experience. You can look up current prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the OFLC Wage Search page.
