INTRODUCTION
The Department of Aviation at the University of North Dakota seeks qualified applicants for a 12-month, non-tenure track, faculty position at the rank of Instructor.
ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- The successful candidate's responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:
- Teaching various aviation courses at the standard Instructor teaching load at the undergraduate level.
- Teaching various aviation flight courses, safety courses, etc.
- Mentoring students on academic and career aspirations.
- Serving on departmental, college and university committees, as assigned. Salary is commensurate with education and experience.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
- Bachelor’s Degree in an aviation related field and 2 years of professional aviation experience.
- Hold a current FAA CFI, CFII, and MEI certificate.
- At least one year of experience providing flight and classroom instruction in an FAA 14 CFR 141 flight training program or equivalent training experience working at an FAA 121 air carrier.
- Successful completion of a Criminal History Background Check.
In compliance with federal law, all persons hired will be required to verify identity and eligibility to work in the US and to complete the required employment eligibility verification form upon hire.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Evidence of established record of successful, collegiate-level classroom teaching in aviation.
