Frame your experience around client-facing revenue
Jobot's Business Development roles are built around winning new staffing contracts and expanding accounts. Before applying, reframe your resume to lead with pipeline ownership, client acquisition outcomes, and revenue impact rather than general relationship management duties.
Confirm OPT authorization covers your start date
If you're on F-1 OPT, verify your work authorization end date before accepting an offer. Jobot operates on fast hiring timelines in staffing, and a gap between your start date and a pending H-1B petition can create complications that stall the process.
Target Jobot's high-volume hiring markets first
Jobot posts Business Development roles across multiple metro areas simultaneously. Prioritize locations where staffing industry activity is highest, such as Texas, California, and the Southeast, since offices with larger client pipelines are more likely to sponsor and retain international hires.
Ask about internal H-1B transfer procedures early
If you already hold an H-1B with another employer, a transfer to Jobot is possible once your new petition is filed with USCIS. Raise this in the offer stage, not after signing, so HR can coordinate with their immigration counsel without delaying your start date.
Use Migrate Mate to filter open Business Development roles by sponsorship type
Not every Jobot listing specifies visa support upfront. Use Migrate Mate to surface Business Development postings at Jobot that are tied to H-1B, TN, or OPT sponsorship, so you're applying to roles where authorization is already part of the conversation.
Prepare documentation showing staffing industry credentials
Jobot expects Business Development candidates to demonstrate familiarity with placement cycles, fee structures, and candidate pipelines. Having a portfolio of past client wins or staffing-specific metrics ready speeds up both the hiring and petition process when your employer needs to document specialty occupation status.
Frequently Asked Questions
Does Jobot sponsor H-1B visas for Business Developments?
Yes, Jobot has sponsored H-1B visas for Business Development roles. Sponsorship is not guaranteed for every open position, so the most effective approach is to raise visa requirements directly during the initial recruiter call. Jobot's internal recruiting team is familiar with work authorization questions, and roles tied to sponsorship tend to be filled through direct outreach rather than passive applications.
Which visa types does Jobot commonly support for Business Development roles?
Jobot has supported H-1B transfers, F-1 OPT extensions, and TN visas for Business Development hires. H-1B is the most common path for long-term sponsorship, while OPT is often used for recent graduates entering a business development role as a bridge to a cap-season petition. TN eligibility applies to Canadian and Mexican nationals in qualifying roles.
What qualifications does Jobot expect for Business Development roles?
Jobot's Business Development positions typically require direct experience in B2B sales, client acquisition, or account management, often within staffing, recruiting, or professional services. For H-1B eligibility, the role needs to qualify as a specialty occupation, which means your degree field should align closely with the responsibilities of the position, not just general business.
How do I apply for Business Development jobs at Jobot?
The most direct path is applying through Jobot's careers page or through Migrate Mate, which surfaces Jobot's Business Development roles filtered by sponsorship eligibility. When applying, address your work authorization status in your cover note or initial message to the recruiter. Jobot's hiring moves quickly in staffing, so following up within 48 hours of applying improves your response rate significantly.
How do I time my application around the H-1B cap season?
The H-1B lottery opens in March each year, with an October 1 start date for selected petitions. If you're applying to Jobot in Q4 or Q1, a cap-subject H-1B petition filed in time for the lottery is the realistic path. Starting conversations with Jobot's recruiting team by January gives enough runway to get an offer letter, complete the LCA with DOL, and file before the registration window closes.
