Customer Marketing Manager Jobs in Massachusetts: Frequently Asked Questions
How do you become a customer marketing manager in Massachusetts?
The most direct path is a bachelor's degree in marketing, communications, or business followed by several years in a customer-facing or demand generation role. Massachusetts does not require a state-issued license for this position. Employers in the Boston and Cambridge technology and life sciences corridor consistently look for candidates who have managed post-sale marketing programs, built reference or advocacy initiatives, or led customer community efforts at a software or professional services company.
How much do customer marketing managers make in Massachusetts?
Customer marketing managers in Massachusetts earn a median of about $212,020 a year, based on May 2025 Bureau of Labor Statistics wage data, ranging from around $122,350 for the lowest 10% to over $310,510 for the top 10%. Pay rises with experience, specialty, and employer.
Which companies hire customer marketing managers in Massachusetts?
Employers hiring customer marketing managers in Massachusetts right now include Veeva Systems, Wood Mackenzie, and Peak Scientific, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of September 2026. Massachusetts's dense concentration of enterprise software, medtech, and financial services firms means steady, recurring demand for this role well beyond the largest names.
Which Massachusetts cities have the most customer marketing manager jobs?
Boston, Massachusetts, and Chicopee have the most customer marketing manager openings in Massachusetts. Boston and Cambridge anchor the market because of their concentration of technology and life sciences headquarters, while Waltham and other Route 128 corridor communities draw demand from the large enterprise software and medtech companies that have established regional offices and marketing teams there.
Are there remote customer marketing manager jobs in Massachusetts?
Yes, and more than most fields. About 75% of customer marketing manager openings tied to Massachusetts are remote or hybrid as of September 2026, reflecting how much of the work centers on content creation, digital campaign management, and cross-functional collaboration that translates well to distributed teams. Customer advocacy, community management, and lifecycle email programs are the sub-functions most commonly offered with remote flexibility.
How can I get hired as a customer marketing manager in Massachusetts with little or no experience?
The most realistic entry path is moving laterally from a customer success, demand generation, or marketing coordinator role at a Massachusetts-based SaaS or life sciences company. Firms such as HubSpot and Rapid7 regularly hire associate or program coordinator roles within their marketing organizations that expose candidates to customer advocacy and lifecycle work. Building a portfolio of written case studies, email sequences, or community content and earning a recognized marketing automation certification gives candidates a meaningful edge when applying to those stepping-stone positions.
Where can I find and apply to customer marketing manager jobs in Massachusetts?
