Enterprise Sales Director Jobs in Michigan: Frequently Asked Questions
How do you become an enterprise sales director in Michigan?
Most enterprise sales directors in Michigan reach the role by building a strong individual contributor record first, typically in B2B account executive or regional sales manager positions, then moving into people leadership. Michigan employers in automotive, technology, and healthcare IT generally expect a bachelor's degree and several years of progressively larger deal experience. No state-issued license is required, but certifications such as Certified Professional Sales Leader or industry-specific credentials strengthen candidacy considerably.
How much do enterprise sales directors make in Michigan?
Enterprise sales directors in Michigan earn a median of about $136,870 a year, based on May 2025 Bureau of Labor Statistics wage data, ranging from around $69,790 for the lowest 10% to over $230,070 for the top 10%. Pay rises with experience, specialty, and employer.
Which companies hire enterprise sales directors in Michigan?
Employers hiring enterprise sales directors in Michigan right now include Meijer, Siemens, and OneMagnify, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of September 2026. Michigan's deep concentration of automotive, medical device, and enterprise software companies means hiring activity is particularly consistent in the Detroit metro and the Grand Rapids corridor.
Which Michigan cities have the most enterprise sales director jobs?
Troy, Detroit, and Sturgis are the Michigan cities with the most enterprise sales director openings. Detroit drives volume through its density of automotive suppliers, technology firms, and large corporate headquarters, while Grand Rapids anchors west Michigan hiring through medical device companies and manufacturing conglomerates, and Ann Arbor draws openings connected to its healthcare systems and university-affiliated technology sector.
Are there remote enterprise sales director jobs in Michigan?
Yes, and more than most fields. Enterprise sales director roles are heavily relationship- and phone-based, which makes remote and hybrid arrangements common across the industry. About 100% of enterprise sales director openings tied to Michigan are remote or hybrid as of September 2026, reflecting how broadly companies are willing to hire regardless of physical location. Strategic account management and sales leadership responsibilities are the functions most frequently performed remotely.
How can I get hired as an enterprise sales director in Michigan with little or no experience?
The most realistic path is to enter through an account executive or sales development role at a Michigan-based employer in technology, automotive supply, or healthcare IT, then build toward a team lead or regional manager position over a few years. Companies such as Stryker, headquartered in Kalamazoo, and large Detroit-area technology firms run structured sales development programs that transition high performers into leadership. Earning a Certified Professional Sales Leader credential and demonstrating a documented history of quota attainment in a smaller-scope role significantly accelerates that transition.
