Most hiring managers expect a bachelor's degree in marketing, business, communications, or a related discipline, along with hands-on experience in digital or performance marketing. Candidates who build a portfolio demonstrating measurable results from campaigns they have owned, whether through agency work, in-house roles, or freelance projects, move through Michigan interview processes faster than those relying on education alone.
How much do growth marketing managers make in Michigan?
Growth marketing managers in Michigan earn a median of about $138,510 a year, based on May 2025 Bureau of Labor Statistics wage data, ranging from around $80,260 for the lowest 10% to over $222,910 for the top 10%. Pay rises with experience, specialty, and employer.
Which companies hire growth marketing managers in Michigan?

Michigan's strong base of automotive, fintech, and consumer packaged goods companies means demand for growth marketers with B2B and DTC experience is consistently present across the state.
Which Michigan cities have the most growth marketing manager jobs?
Grand Rapids, Lansing, and Petoskey account for the largest share of growth marketing manager openings in Michigan. Detroit leads because of its dense concentration of corporate headquarters in automotive, financial services, and healthcare, while Grand Rapids draws openings from its growing technology and retail sector, and Ann Arbor benefits from the University of Michigan's research and tech startup ecosystem attracting marketing talent.

About 0% of growth marketing manager openings tied to Michigan are remote or hybrid as of September 2026, reflecting how widely Michigan employers have adopted flexible arrangements for analytical and digital marketing functions. Campaign strategy, reporting, and paid media management are the parts of the role most commonly done fully remote.
How can I get hired as a growth marketing manager in Michigan with little or no experience?
The most realistic entry path is landing a coordinator or analyst role in digital or performance marketing at a Michigan-based company and building measurable results you can speak to. Large Michigan employers like Rocket Companies and Domino's run structured marketing associate programs that accept candidates without direct management experience. Moving laterally from roles like email marketing specialist, paid search analyst, or marketing operations coordinator is a common route. A strong portfolio of campaign results, even from freelance or side projects, gives Michigan hiring managers a concrete reason to take a chance on an early-career candidate.
