Human Resources Assistant Jobs in Colorado: Frequently Asked Questions
How do you become a human resources assistant in Colorado?
Colorado does not require a state-issued license to work as a human resources assistant, so the path centers on education and credentials recognized by employers. Most Colorado employers expect at minimum an associate degree in human resources or business, with a bachelor's degree preferred for roles at larger organizations. Earning a SHRM-CP or PHR certification strengthens your candidacy considerably, as many Colorado employers list these as preferred qualifications in their postings.
Which companies hire human resources assistants in Colorado?
Employers hiring human resources assistants in Colorado right now include Denver Public Schools, Victra-Verizon Authorized Retailer, and UCHealth, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of September 2026. Colorado's large healthcare systems, defense contractors, and state government agencies consistently maintain some of the highest HR hiring volumes in the state.
Which Colorado cities have the most human resources assistant jobs?
Denver, Aurora, and Colorado Springs account for the most human resources assistant openings in Colorado. Denver dominates due to its concentration of corporate headquarters, healthcare systems, and government agencies, while Colorado Springs draws demand from a large military and defense sector, and Boulder's technology and life-sciences employers support a consistent need for HR support staff.
Are there remote human resources assistant jobs in Colorado?
Yes, and they're more common than in many office-support roles. About 70% of human resources assistant openings tied to Colorado are remote or hybrid as of September 2026, reflecting how much HR coordination work can be done digitally. The tasks most frequently performed remotely include HRIS data entry, benefits administration, and recruiting coordination, while onboarding and employee relations work more often requires an on-site presence.
How can I get hired as a human resources assistant in Colorado with little or no experience?
The most realistic entry path is applying directly to administrative or HR coordinator roles at Colorado's large public-sector employers, which regularly hire entry-level candidates and provide structured on-the-job training. UCHealth, Colorado state agencies, and large Denver-area municipalities often post HR assistant roles open to candidates without prior HR-specific experience. Transitioning from a receptionist, payroll clerk, or office administrator position is a common lateral move that Colorado hiring managers accept, and completing a SHRM student membership or an HR certificate from a Colorado community college adds a measurable edge.
Where can I find and apply to human resources assistant jobs in Colorado?
You can find and apply to human resources assistant jobs in Colorado on Migrate Mate, which lists current Colorado openings updated regularly. Search the listings to find roles that match your experience level and location, then apply directly to the ones that fit.
